Job Description

We are looking for a results-oriented Senior Marketing Analyst to join our Marketing Analytics team at Wise, specializing in paid channel optimization. Our mission, "Money Without Borders," inspires us to create the best ways to move and manage money globally.

If you’re excited about this mission and want to make a real impact through data-driven paid marketing optimization, this role is perfect for you. You’ll own the analytical strategy for either our paid social or paid display channels, driving performance improvements and incremental growth through rigorous testing and optimization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end analytics for a major paid marketing channel (paid social or paid display), becoming the go-to expert for performance insights and optimization opportunities
  • Design and execute systematic A/B testing frameworks to continuously improve campaign performance, creative effectiveness, and audience targeting
  • Build and maintain comprehensive reporting systems that track channel performance, efficiency metrics, and incremental impact
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses into campaign performance, identifying optimization opportunities across audiences, creatives, placements, and bidding strategies
  • Partner closely with channel managers to translate data insights into actionable optimization strategies that drive incremental customer acquisition
  • Develop and refine attribution methodologies to accurately measure true incremental value and inform budget allocation decisions
  • Create automated reporting and alerting systems to enable real-time performance monitoring and rapid response to changes
  • Analyze competitive landscape and industry benchmarks to identify new testing opportunities and strategic advantages
  • Drive efficiency improvements through bid optimization, audience refinement, and creative performance analysis
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure paid channel strategies align with broader marketing and business objectives

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in paid marketing analytics, performance marketing, or digital marketing analytics
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python/R for data manipulation and analysis
  • Hands-on experience with paid social and/or paid display platforms (Meta, Google Ads, DV360, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of paid marketing metrics including CPM, CPC, CTR, CVR, CAC, and ROAS
  • Proven track record of designing and analyzing A/B tests with statistical rigor in a paid marketing context
  • Experience with attribution modeling and incrementality measurement for paid channels
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns and opportunities in large datasets
  • Experience with modern data stack tools (dbt, Looker, Tableau, or similar)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present optimization recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Natural curiosity and passion for continuous testing and optimization

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with marketing APIs and automation tools for paid channels
  • Knowledge of Mobile Measurement Partners (MMPs) and app attribution
  • Familiarity with creative testing frameworks and creative performance analysis
  • Experience with incrementality testing methodologies (geo-experiments, holdout tests, etc.)
  • Understanding of advanced bidding strategies and machine learning in paid marketing
  • Experience in fintech or high-growth technology companies

What We're Looking For

We want someone who is genuinely excited about the intersection of data and paid marketing. You should thrive in a test-and-learn environment, have a strong bias for action, and be comfortable making data-driven recommendations that directly impact marketing spend. The ideal candidate will be obsessed with finding incremental gains, passionate about optimization, and able to balance quick wins with long-term strategic improvements. You should be equally comfortable diving deep into campaign data as you are presenting strategic recommendations to stakeholders.

Additional Information
  • Base salary: £60k - £75k (based on experience and interview outcomes)
  • Restricted Stock Units (RSUs)

Why Data Science Careers in the UK Are Becoming More Multidisciplinary

Data science once meant advanced statistics, machine learning models and coding in Python or R. In the UK today, it has become one of the most in-demand professions across sectors — from healthcare to finance, retail to government. But as the field matures, employers now expect more than technical modelling skills. Modern data science is multidisciplinary. It requires not just coding and algorithms, but also legal knowledge, ethical reasoning, psychological insight, linguistic clarity and human-centred design. Data scientists are expected to interpret, communicate and apply data responsibly, with awareness of law, human behaviour and accessibility. In this article, we’ll explore why data science careers in the UK are becoming more multidisciplinary, how these five disciplines intersect with data science, and what job-seekers & employers need to know to succeed in this transformed field.

Data Science Team Structures Explained: Who Does What in a Modern Data Science Department

Data science is one of the most in-demand, dynamic, and multidisciplinary areas in the UK tech and business landscape. Organisations from finance, retail, health, government, and beyond are using data to drive decisions, automate processes, personalise services, predict trends, detect fraud, and more. To do that well, companies don’t just need good data scientists; they need teams with clearly defined roles, responsibilities, workflows, collaboration, and governance. If you're aiming for a role in data science or recruiting for one, understanding the structure of a data science department—and who does what—can make all the difference. This article breaks down the key roles, how they interact across the lifecycle of a data science project, what skills and qualifications are typical in the UK, expected salary ranges, challenges, trends, and how to build or grow an effective team.
