Overview: Supports executive leadership and Vice Presidents on the Data Quality Stakeholder Council to drive the data quality program across the enterprise. Helps lead and coordinate major initiatives supporting Sentara's strategic goals and enterprise data services. Provides guidance on developing data quality monitoring, drives remediation efforts, and improves enterprise data quality. Coordinates with teams including enterprise data services, analytics, and business units to advance data quality initiatives. Plays a key role in developing and managing the enterprise-level data quality program.
Preferred domain knowledge includes data quality lifecycle management, policies, processes, standards, business analysis, project management, data management, catalog management, stewardship, business process flows, data mapping, process improvement, data visualization, analytics programming, database management (including MDM, ETL, storage, cloud computing), and experience working with healthcare data systems like EMRs, billing, claims, and financial systems. Business acumen in finance, accounting, operations, management, and marketing within healthcare and health plans.
Responsibilities Collaborate with the data governance team to create and utilize documentation such as data mapping, stewardship, critical data elements, quality rules, and data lineage; support implementation in governance and quality platforms.
Develop documentation including policies, manuals, standards, and process flows to support data quality.
Spearhead proof-of-concept initiatives for new data quality features and develop enterprise rollout strategies.
Define measures and KPIs to assess the maturity and success of the data quality program.
Work with SMEs to identify data domains, products, stewards, critical data elements, and quality thresholds.
Coordinate with data engineers and quality developers to set up monitoring across source systems.
Monitor data quality reports using platforms like Informatica, Tableau, or PowerBI.
Manage operational support for data quality monitoring, root cause analysis, and remediation.
Lead data stewardship practice rollout, including training and content development.
Support policy management in collaboration with compliance, privacy, and security teams.
Participate in data quality council and committee discussions.
Lead efforts for data quality SharePoint releases.
Education Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Health Information Management, or related field required.
Master's Degree preferred; 2+ years of relevant experience may substitute.
Certification/Licensure No specific requirements.
Experience Minimum 5+ years in healthcare or health plan environments.
Extensive experience with SQL Server, Databricks, Azure Synapse (5+ years).
Experience with data quality platforms like Informatica, SAS Dataflux, etc. (5+ years).
Experience with ServiceNow, JIRA, or Azure DevOps.
At least 3+ years in business analysis, project management, or training roles.
Experience with Service Management and Agile tools (3+ years).
Data governance experience is a plus.
We offer competitive compensation, including base pay, incentives, and benefits. Pay ranges from $43.95/hr to $73.26/hr, with additional incentives possible.
