The overall objective of this role is to contribute to the continuous development and improvement of a strategic data application within the ISG Data Solutions group.


By joining the Exceptions Master Central (XMC) team you will work with the latest technologies and interact with stakeholders from across the bank enabling Citi to succeed in delivering value for our clients, while playing a key role in our data governance and data quality strategy.


In this role you will work on a best in class system that acts as the strategic source for client reference data across the enterprise, enhancing its capabilities and data in line with business and regulatory requirements.


XMC provides a suite of services across our product offering, including data analytics, automated reporting solutions, dashboarding, rules based decision engines, workflow ticketing, database management and data governance tooling with a primary focus on user experience and outcome based delivery.

The Technology Senior Business Analyst is a senior-level position responsible for liaising between business users and technologists to exchange information in a concise, logical and understandable way in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to continuous iterative exploration and investigation of business performance and other measures to gain insight and drive business performance whilst ensuring the highest level of integrity around our data, data architecture and data governance.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop creative technical solutions to meet business needs and manage complex, high volume applications in partnership with business partners and stakeholders.
  • Analyse business client needs, understand and document their use case.
  • Analysis of large sets of client and reference data across multiple systems.
  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and/or other team members.
  • Define and design enhancements to the system, business processes and process automation utilizing best practices and industry standards.
  • Consult with users and clients to troubleshoot complex system issues/problems through in-depth evaluation of business processes and systems.
  • Resolve problems by translating business requirements, identifying trends and defining scope to inform technical solution.
  • Identify and communicate risks and impacts, considering business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.
  • Foster communication between business leaders and IT stakeholders facilitating exchange of ideas/information in a concise and logical manner.
  • Derive and execute test cases to ensure projects meet requirements and identify system problems to develop solutions based on analysis.
  • Providing reports, metrics and presentations to inform business users.
  • Act as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts and work as a team to improve efficiency of delivery, performing other duties and functions as assigned.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Required Experience/ Skills:

  • Experience in a business analysis role preferably in financial services.
  • Capital Markets experience within Operations/ Business would be relevant in the absence of technical experience.
  • Relevant experience in data analysis with knowledge of databases, data modelling and data analysis tools such as SQL.
  • Focus on user experience and outcome based delivery.
  • Experience with all phases of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience using JIRA for SDLC and Book of Work management.
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical skills, communication and presentation skills with an ability to tailor delivery to the required audience.
  • Proven problem-solver with the ability to work under pressure, approach work methodically and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team across levels, regions, and functions, with understanding of how collaboration accomplishes objectives.
  • Able to operate with a limited level of direct supervision and can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
  • You should have experience of partner management and influencing skills.
  • Excellent Microsoft office skills (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines across multiple workstreams and approach work methodically with attention to detail.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
