What we do.

Our Bakkavor Bread sites are based in Aston, Crewe and Barton. They make specialty hand-crafted flatbreads, garlic baguettes, doughballs and ciabattas for customers including Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Waitrose and Sainsburys.

About the role.

To provide HR administration support to the local HR team whilst undertaking entry level generalist HR duties and providing first line HR advice to colleagues and managers. The team covers our 3 bread manufacturing sites and a distribution centre based in Cheshire and Barton-Upon-Humber. The role will be based in Cheshire, splitting attendance between the Cheshire sites, with occasional travel to Barton.

Full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Accountabilities:
Provide general administration support to the HR Team, including raising purchase orders and arranging payment of invoices, conducting frequent low-level audits of HR system data to check data integrity and accuracy. Where appropriate, updating labour (core manning) plan in line with site requirements.
Coordinate people communications in a variety of formats, including announcements and notice board updates.
Support the engagement agenda by completing admin and coordination of the annual Group Employee Engagement survey. Administer and coordinate engagement initiatives including Loyal Service Awards and our Proud to be Bakkavor recognition schemes. Support Group initiatives and Site Employee Forum/Wellbeing Champions to deliver their engagement activities and events as required.
Undertake administrative processes to ensure that colleagues' pay is processed accurately and on time, using relevant systems and processes.
Work with the Talent Acquisition Team and line managers to ensure the resourcing requirements are proactively managed. Including system maintenance and coordinating the internal recruitment process at site level.
Represent the HR function at inductions, supporting the successful onboarding of new starters.
Manage the Right to Work process ensuring all employees have the correct documentation, including re-checks, online checks, sending letters to individuals to confirm actions required, and escalation of any potential risk to the HRBP.
Provide administration support to HRBPs and line managers during the AWOL process and formal employee relations meetings including taking notes if required.
Update People KPIs, including use of Qliksense and MyHR reporting, highlighting trends to the HRBP. Use the data to support managers to drive improvements where applicable.
Supporting the attendance management process by coordinating referrals to Occupational Health, tracking of restricted duties and reviewing the absence trigger data making appropriate recommendations to HRBP for review.
Liaise with shared service functions to resolve issues and escalate accordingly. About you.
Able to work to strict timescales in a busy environment demonstrating resilience.
Strong systems skills with the ability to coach others to use them.
Results driven with excellent time management and prioritisation skills and the ability to see tasks through to completion.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyse data.
Able to handle confidential information discretely, professionally, and appropriately.
Confident communicator and ability to adjust style to suit the audience.
Proactive and pragmatic approach.
Can use initiative and work independently as well as part of a team.
Desire to drive own development demonstrating a passion for learning new things.
Courage to ask questions, introduce new ideas and question ways of working.
Ability to act with integrity, be an ambassador for the Bakkavor values and to champion an inclusive culture.
