What We Do: Working with internal stakeholders, you will use your expertise to provide easily accessible data reporting and business intelligence across GBS. In overseeing and managing key projects with internal stakeholders you will lead a team to understand business needs and data requirements to enable management of key performance indicators and improve identified processes and outcomes for GBS from end to end, empower colleagues to understand the key metrics that drive performance throughout the organisation.

Main Responsibilities

About the Role:



  • Work closely with senior managers and offshore team to provide UK Higher Education sector subject knowledge to enable the development of student management software.
  • Take the lead to provide best practice interactive data dashboards to assist internal stakeholders with forecasting, scenario modelling and driving improvements in performance
  • Deliver a high-quality user experience by ensuring the business requirements and challenges are understood, that analysis and insights are actionable, and the output meets the needs of the end user
  • Lead on the provision of high-quality written reports and briefing papers, blogs, and presentations (both written and oral), delivering all to a high standard in a style that is easy to understand for a wide range of internal audiences
  • Complete a detailed review or Power BI and Excel reporting prior to live deployment


Requirements

About you:



  • A good degree in a numerate subject or relevant Higher Education work experience
  • Detailed knowledge of statistical techniques and data modelling 
  • Profound understanding of relational database architecture and querying methodologies.
  • Experienced of handling and amalgamating diverse data-sets from various sources.
  • Demonstrated expertise in T-SQL for data querying and transformation.
  • Confidence in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to communicate complex data capability in a way which fully engages them in the services the Data and Information team provide
  • Extensive experience in creating reports using Power BI and proficiency in utilising DAX or the ability to demonstrate experience in a similar analytical tool
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring, with a willingness to share knowledge and skills.
  • Higher Education sector experience
