Analytics Engineer

We are looking for an Analytics Engineer to join our Data Engineering team which sits under Tech and Data.

You will join a cross-functional Analytics Excellence team consisting of a group of Analytics engineers and Data analysts from diverse backgrounds who leverage the latest technologies to build robust and user-friendly infrastructure and data sets to self-serve for non-coding Circlers.

The role

  1. Set up training for non-coding Circlers to enable them to model data to best practices.
  2. Identify actions and optimisation opportunities for modelled data across our domains.
  3. Play a key role in establishing best practices for modelling and processing data.
  4. Help support data culture initiatives to grow data maturity at Funding Circle.
  5. Proactively problem-solve, identifying and confidently mitigating any risks, issues or control weaknesses that arise in your day-to-day.

What we’re looking for

  1. Strong experience in dbt.
  2. Proficiency in SQL/Python/Pyspark and/or other languages relevant to data processing. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP or Azure (desirable).
  3. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  4. A passion for creating business value through data.
  5. Strong communication skills, in particular the ability to translate technical skills to non-technical stakeholders.
