Principal - Real World Evidence

Location - London or Winchester with hybrid working in line with departmental in-office requirements (Tuesday is a regular in-office team day, currently a minimum 40% in office requirement)

In 2020 LCP launched our Heath practice, providing analytical and research services for organisations across the life sciences and healthcare industries. Our team brings together clinicians, statisticians, epidemiologists, health economists, bioinformaticians and health data scientists alongside our established actuarial, analytics and technology teams to deliver new solutions for the fundamental challenges in health. Our team’s mission is to help move health systems from importers of illness to exporters of health and to support our clients to deliver value to patients. We have already developed a track record for leading approaches to real world evidence generation, health economic modelling and market access strategy.

We have been growing the team quickly in response to the demand we are seeing for the innovative service offerings we have developed, and are looking for a Principal in Real World Evidence to join the leadership team of our Health practice. Our real world evidence services span the medicines development lifecycle including clinical phase RWE, payer evidence, drug safety and post launch RWE.

What will you be doing?

As a Principal in Real World Evidence, you will bring deep subject matter expertise (e.g. in epidemiology, statistics, health data science) alongside excellent people leadership and client engagement skills. This is a senior role and you will be part of the leadership team, helping to develop new service offerings, and providing support to the growing team. Your key areas of responsibilities will be as follows.

Delivering excellent client service in RWE by:

  • Leading on the delivery of client projects including being the primary contact for client management and being accountable for efficient project delivery
  • Providing scientific and technical leadership in the conceptualisation and delivery of real world evidence studies
  • Acting as a Subject Matter Expert in RWE on projects and engagements across the breadth of LCP Health

Driving the business forward with prospect development by:

  • Leading on developing proposals and progressing client opportunities
  • Generating new opportunities through early engagement with prospects
  • Supporting the extension of the capabilities of the current RWE offering according to your expertise and track record
  • Contributing to the development of LCP Health’s sector presence through thought leadership

Culture and People Development:

  • As a member of the RWE leadership team, you will actively contribute to the development of the team, including training and coaching
  • Contributing to the management of the RWE team, including taking on specific leadership roles which may include some of resourcing, strategy implementation, QMA, training and development and/or team operations

What experience, skills and qualities are we looking for?

  • Significant, demonstrable (likely to be more than 10 years) experience in the life sciences or consulting/CRO industries and a track record of leading multiple RWE studies
  • A track record of leading teams in delivering innovative work in a fast-paced environment
  • A relevant Masters, PhD or MD in a relevant subject (e.g. Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Data Science)
  • Expertise in real world evidence with a desire to apply quantitative skills and rigorous science to solving real-world problems in health
  • Extensive experience in working with global real world health data sources for health research
  • An excellent track record in successful business development
  • A commitment to providing excellent service to our clients and be experienced in leading consulting engagements
  • Excellent communication skills, confident, have good presentation skills and be able to explain complex issues to others
  • Initiative and creativity
  • An understanding and appreciation that a consultancy environment will sometimes mean going the extra mile to meet client deadlines
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate your work and the work of a multi-disciplinary team, regularly multi-tasking across client projects and the development and coordination of less experienced team members

Where to Advertise Data Science Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise data science jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards, communities and channels that actually reach senior and lead data science talent. Data science spans a broad and often misunderstood spectrum — from statistical modelling and experimental design through to machine learning engineering, product analytics and AI research. The strongest candidates identify firmly with specific subdisciplines and are frustrated by adverts that conflate data scientist with data analyst, business intelligence developer or machine learning engineer. General job boards produce high application volumes for data roles but consistently fail to match specialist data science profiles with the right opportunities. This guide, published by DataScienceJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise data science roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.

Data Science Jobs UK 2026: What to Expect Over the Next 3 Years

Data Science Jobs UK 2026: roles, salaries and the trends shaping UK data science hiring over the next three years — from MLE crossover to GenAI workflows. Data science has spent the past decade being described as the sexiest job of the twenty-first century. By 2026, the reality is both more nuanced and more interesting than that label ever suggested. The discipline has matured, fragmented, deepened, and in some respects reinvented itself — and the jobs market has changed with it in ways that create genuine opportunity for those who understand what employers actually want, and genuine difficulty for those still operating on assumptions formed five years ago. The data science jobs market of 2026 is not simply a larger version of what it was three years ago. The generalist data scientist — equally comfortable wrangling data, building models, and presenting insights to the board — is giving way to a more specialised landscape where employers know exactly what problem they are trying to solve and are looking for candidates with the specific depth to solve it. Machine learning engineering, causal inference, experimentation, AI product development, and domain-specific applied science have all emerged as distinct career tracks within what was previously a single, loosely defined profession. At the same time, the arrival of large language models and the broader AI capability wave has both threatened and created data science roles in equal measure. Some of the work that junior data scientists spent their early careers doing — data cleaning, exploratory analysis, basic model building — is being partially automated by AI tooling. But the demand for practitioners who can evaluate AI systems rigorously, apply statistical thinking to complex business problems, and build the data foundations on which AI depends has grown considerably. The candidates who will thrive over the next three years are those who understand where the discipline is heading — which specialisms are attracting the most investment, which technologies are reshaping what data scientists are expected to build and know, and how to position a data science career that will remain valuable as the field continues to evolve around them. This article breaks down what the UK data science jobs market is likely to look like through to 2028 — covering the titles emerging right now, the technologies driving employer demand, the skills that will matter most, and how to position your career ahead of the curve.
