An exciting opportunity has arisen for aData Business Analyst to join a growing and ambitious organisation undergoing significant business and technology transformation.
This is a varied position that combines business analysis, process improvement, data analytics, and reporting. You'll play a key role in helping the business improve operational performance by documenting processes, enhancing data quality, developing reporting solutions, and supporting the effective use of business systems.
Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you'll bridge the gap between business operations and technology, ensuring that data and processes support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
The Role
The Data Business Analyst sits at the intersection of business operations, data, and technology. You will be responsible for analysing and documenting business processes, developing meaningful management information, creating insightful dashboards, and helping teams maximise the value of business systems and operational data.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture, map, and maintain business processes, including Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 process documentation, procedures, and work instructions.
- Work with departments to identify process inefficiencies, risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure business systems are used consistently and effectively, promoting strong process adherence and data quality.
- Extract, interrogate, and analyse data using SQL to support reporting, operational insight, and decision-making.
- Utilise advanced Excel and VBA tools to cleanse, manipulate, reconcile, and structure data.
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualisations.
- Produce regular management information (MI), KPI reporting, and ad-hoc analysis for business leaders.
- Support the adoption and effective use of ERP and Microsoft business applications by translating business requirements into practical solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across departments, providing clear communication between technical and non-technical audiences.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or in a hybrid business systems and reporting role.
- Strong process mapping and documentation skills, including experience with end-to-end process modelling.
- Proven Power BI experience, building dashboards and reporting solutions for business users.
- Good SQL knowledge, including querying, analysing, and validating data from multiple sources.
- Advanced Excel skills, including reporting, data manipulation, reconciliation, and VBA automation.
- Experience producing management information and performance reporting for operational teams and senior stakeholders.
- Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft business applications.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, process improvement, and business transformation.
