Description

Finance Data Analyst responsibilities:

  • Examine financial data to uncover trends, variances, and improvement opportunities
  • Produce consistent finance and performance reports
  • Support the creation of KPI and performance reporting packs
  • Evaluate revenue streams, cost structures, and key business drivers
  • Develop and maintain detailed reports to support strategic decision-making
  • Assist in building financial models to forecast future outcomes
  • Derive clear, actionable insights from large datasets
  • Identify and implement process improvements, including automation and AI-driven solutions
  • Present financial insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

Profile

A successful Finance Data Analyst should have:

  • Strong academic background in accounting, finance, data science, or a related discipline
  • Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, pivot tables, and structured reporting; experience with Power BI is advantageous but not essential
  • Proficient in financial analysis and reporting using spreadsheets and database tools
  • Experienced in managing and interpreting large datasets
  • Sound understanding of accounting standards and financial regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail
  • Effective communicator, able to present insights clearly to a range of audiences
