Senior Technical SEO Executive

Location: London, UK (Hybrid Role | 3 Days in the Office)

Salary Range: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum, depending on experience

Type: Full-Time

About the Role:
Are you a highly skilled Technical SEO expert with a passion for Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) and Website Migrations? We're looking for a Senior Technical SEO Executive to play a key role in driving organic performance, optimising websites, and ensuring seamless migrations for our clients.

You’ll be responsible for conducting in-depth technical audits, improving site performance, and implementing advanced SEO strategies that deliver real impact. You’ll also work closely with developers, UX specialists, and data analysts to enhance user experience and conversion rates.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technical SEO:
    • Conduct in-depth technical audits to identify and resolve issues affecting organic performance.
    • Optimise site structure, internal linking, and crawlability to improve rankings and user experience.
    • Implement and monitor structured data (Schema markup) to enhance SERP visibility.
    • Ensure indexation, crawl budget optimisation, and overall site health using tools like Google Search Console and Screaming Frog.
    • Optimise Core Web Vitals and page speed using Lighthouse, PageSpeed Insights, and GTmetrix.
    • Manage technical SEO projects, working closely with developers to implement best practices.
    • Conduct regular log file analysis to diagnose crawl behaviour and inefficiencies.
    • Stay ahead of algorithm updates and industry trends, adapting strategies proactively.
  2. Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO):
    • Analyse user behaviour, engagement metrics, and site funnels to identify conversion bottlenecks.
    • Develop and execute A/B and multivariate testing strategies to improve conversion rates.
    • Work closely with UX/UI designers and developers to enhance user experience and drive higher conversions.
    • Implement tracking solutions and analyse data from Google Analytics, Hotjar, and other CRO tools.
    • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to increase customer retention and revenue.
  3. Website Migrations:
    • Plan and manage SEO migration projects, including domain changes, platform migrations, and URL restructuring.
    • Conduct pre-migration audits and risk assessments to identify potential SEO challenges.
    • Develop redirect mapping strategies to preserve rankings and traffic post-migration.
    • Perform thorough post-migration monitoring to identify and resolve traffic or ranking drops.
    • Collaborate with developers, content teams, and stakeholders to ensure SEO best practices are followed throughout the migration process.

Key Skills & Experience:

  1. 3+ years of experience in a technical SEO role, ideally in an agency or enterprise setting.
  2. Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and how they impact SEO.
  3. Experience with SEO tools (Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush, DeepCrawl, Sitebulb, Google Search Console etc.).
  4. Hands-on experience with Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, and Looker Studio.
  5. Solid understanding of server-side factors, including log file analysis and server response codes.
  6. Strong grasp of conversion optimisation principles and user behaviour analytics.
  7. Proven experience managing large-scale website migrations with minimal traffic loss.
  8. Ability to communicate technical recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
  9. Strong project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  10. Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue) and their SEO implications is a plus.
