Delivery Director (Mat Cover Contract) for VML EMEA Data Department

ABOUT THE JOB:

We’re looking for an established and experienced senior/executive individual to lead and drive delivery of all data projects/programs of work, full transformation and growth for VML Data EMEA.

As the Delivery Director, you will play a key role in shaping VML’s data presence across multiple global accounts. You will be a thought leader passionate about finding the best delivery models and approaches for new business and existing clients across our range of marketing data offerings.

This position requires strong leadership skills, instinctive strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of marketing technologies, campaign services, analytics, and trends.

PROFICIENCIES AND CHARACTER:

  • Proven track record of leadership in data marketing, business operations, media, tech, e-commerce, or related areas, preferably in a global consumer brand context.
  • In-depth knowledge of data marketing technologies and trends, with a passion for innovation and creativity.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical skills, leveraging data to drive operational decision-making and optimization assessments.
  • Experience in managing large budgets and delivering measurable business results.
  • Excellent commercial aptitude, with the ability to manage and grow a P&L.

SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES:

OPERATIONS AND DELIVERY

  • Accountable for the Delivery Management of multiple projects from initiation, planning, and monitoring to completion and closure.
  • Ensure the Delivery Management Framework is adhered to. Also contributing to its development and refinement.
  • Establishes governance, action management, and communication routines, mitigating issues, risks, and resolution plans.
  • Manage the core project areas of scope, time, cost, and quality to ensure project outputs meet expectations:
    • Scope—Work closely with project sponsors to ensure that business requirements are met and the project's outputs are fit for purpose.
    • Time – Maintain an up-to-date and accurate schedule to track project tasks and key milestones.
    • Cost - Manage the project cost – track costs based on budget, forecast, and actuals/reconciliations.
    • Quality - Oversee the project's quality control and quality assurance aspects, including the UAT and testing phases.
  • Produce accurate and detailed documentation for the project (such as project kick-off/briefing deck, SOW, workbook/estimation spreadsheet, meeting reports with clear actions and owners outlined, burn reports,…)
  • Expert in PM methodologies & tools: agile, hybrid, KANBAN, Smartsheet, JIRA, etc.

ANALYTICS

  • Briefing in and working closely with technical consultants, data analysts and the dev team.
  • Oversight of analytics stand-ups.
  • Ensuring pro-active response to client briefs; prioritising, delivering within agreed SLA whilst managing client expectations, reinforcing internal processes.
  • Ensuring effective JIRA ticket management processes or similar platforms: creating tickets, assigning to resources, triaging, prioritizing, closing tickets.
  • Track-record experience delivering analytic project, SEO, SEM.
  • Technical understanding of how website analytics works across all major providers (Google analytics and Adobe Analytics).

MARKETING-TECHNOLOGY CONSULTING

  • Managing data projects for major global client portfolio
  • Delivering programs (costs, timings, risks, dependencies, admin) across data strategy, analytics, and business, marketing and data opportunities
  • Briefing in and managing business, technical and, data consultants
  • Outlining business opportunities when they arise and growing the account alongside the business director
  • Managing client relationships and clear communication through effective reporting

COMMERCIALS AND OPERATIONS

  • Lead RFP/RFI’s or projects, scoping covering scope, resources, and budget estimation.
  • Responsible for portfolio profitability across all data-led projects in the agency
  • Be the single point of contact, maintain customer satisfaction and provide regular status updates for all outstanding issues/risks/resolution plans regarding the project progress
  • Responsible for effective operation and systems management across EMEA region.

LEADERSHIP AND TEAMMANAGEMENT

  • Accountable for effective change management on:
    • People – any new roles or impacts on teams
    • Process – any new systems and procedures
    • Technology – any platform, hardware or other technology changes required to support the business change
  • Build & lead a high-performing team, fostering cultural change
  • Ensure team’s performing at its best, upskilling, training requirements and best practice adherence.
