Our mission is to help enterprises, technology companies, and governments better connect with and understand their organisations, their people, their customers, and citizens. We are a team of creative engineers and technologists dedicated to unleashing the potential of data in new and impactful ways.

We design and build bespoke data platforms and unique software products, create and deploy intelligent systems, and bring engineering expertise to life by transforming data into actionable insights and tangible outcomes.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our close-knit team of experts in the UK to help deliver our client engagements as we scale our UK business.

If you excel in client facing roles, have a deep understanding of how modern software is built

and delivered, and have a passion for all things Product then we’d love to hear from you.

Brief overview of the role’s responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver data-led solutions for enterprise clients, focusing on high-quality outcomes and measurable business value.
  • Providing product management expertise within the team, leading the work that Simple Machines engineering teams do and providing advice to client stakeholders on how to build great products.
  • Own the full product lifecycle, including discovery, development, release, and post deployment evaluation using data and feedback loops.
  • Plan, initiate, and manage complex technology projects that enable clients to build innovative products and solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on requirements, develop solutions, and drive key milestones.

  • Maintain strong client relationships, providing advisory expertise and helping to enhance Simple Machines' reputation with the client and in the market.

What we need from you

You will love and excel in this role if you:

  • Possess a refined understanding of modern software development — including technologies, frameworks, methods, and common challenges.
  • Bring client-facing experience in Technology Consulting or a B2B Software Product company, whether as a consultant, sales engineer, or product professional collaborating with client teams.
  • Have hands-on expertise across the product lifecycle, with experience across design, analysis, build, test and release phases.
  • Communicate and influence effectively, tailoring information to different audiences and levels across the business in both written and verbal forms.
  • Stay curious about technology and data trends, applying best practices to your work and driving continuous improvement for the team.
  • Build relationships naturally, thriving in dynamic teams and new situations.
  • Take a proactive approach to delivery, knowing how to prioritise, move work forward, and influence others to achieve outcomes.
  • Are ambitious and growth-driven, excited by the opportunity to be part of a small, experienced team helping grow Simple Machines UK.
  • Have experience with data-led decisioning products or machine-learning algorithms for business decisioning, this is preferred but not essential.

Negotiating Your Data Science Job Offer: Equity, Bonuses & Perks Explained

Data science has rapidly evolved from a niche specialty to a cornerstone of strategic decision-making in virtually every industry—from finance and healthcare to retail, entertainment, and AI research. As a mid‑senior data scientist, you’re not just running predictive models or generating dashboards; you’re shaping business strategy, product innovation, and customer experiences. This level of influence is why employers are increasingly offering compensation packages that go beyond a baseline salary. Yet, many professionals still tend to focus almost exclusively on base pay when negotiating a new role. This can be a costly oversight. Companies vying for data science talent—especially in the UK, where demand often outstrips supply—routinely offer equity, bonuses, flexible work options, and professional development funds in addition to salary. Recognising these opportunities and effectively negotiating them can have a substantial impact on your total earnings and long-term career satisfaction. This guide explores every facet of negotiating a data science job offer—from understanding equity structures and bonus schemes to weighing crucial perks like remote work and ongoing skill development. By the end, you’ll be well-equipped to secure a holistic package aligned with your market value, your life goals, and the tremendous impact you bring to any organisation.
