Job Summary
Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for product planning, delivery and market research throughout the products lifecycle.
You will develop a vision and roadmap for the products, aligned to business goals and the market requirements based on input from internal stakeholders, customers, market research, trade associations attendance (legislative & standards) and your own industry insight.
Having identified product development or improvement projects, you will work closely with Development/Engineering, Marketing and Sales to deliver products to market that align with this vision, meeting market needs and deliver to a consistently high-quality standard.
This position is full time office based, working Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm In Aylesford.
Duties

  • You will develop a forecast for the product based on input from marketing, sales, market analysis and your own experience, and manage its delivery.
  • Define the product strategy and roadmap
  • Manage the product throughout its lifecycle from concept to end-of-life
  • Be the recognised expert in the business on the product, the market, relevant technology and the competition.
  • Write the business case for new product investments and gain internal approval
  • Write Market Requirements documents for product requirements, including costs and selling prices, accounting for varying price strategies based on route to market
  • Working with the marketing manager, propose a product marketing plan and budget and then deliver against it
  • Develop core positioning and messaging for the products, coordinating with the marketing Manager to provide data on product positioning, competitor analysis, and Market trends to guide the campaigns.
  • Perform product demos to customers and develop internal training for staff development and technical/sales training & support relationship building with key clients
  • Monitor, report and make proposals to improve product performance
  • Identify and support sales channels.
  • Develop route to market strategies with key stakeholders to support targeted product growth strategies
  • Promote the product to sales teams through sales training sessions, webinars, newsletters and other mechanisms
  • Develop and deliver training to technical sales support, and the sales team
  • Co-ordinate with development and marketing on projects to deliver to plan
  • Collate feedback from sales and customers and feedback into product roadmaps
  • Represent the voice of the customer in senior level meetings
  • Using business intelligence and market conditions deliver a regular (e.g. monthly) volume, revenue and profit forecasts
    Knowledge, experience and qualifications
  • Educated to degree standard or similar in engineering or equivalent
  • 3+ years relevant product management experience from within a transferable role, from within the HVAC industry would be favourable
  • Demonstrable understanding of product engineering and management principles
  • Experience in marketing data analytics and tools
  • Proven negotiation and networking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – able to represent the Company at all levels
  • Must possess good analytical and problem-solving skills with methodical approach to achieving results.
  • High attention to detail with excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • Excellent, verbal and written communication skills, with ability to convey technical information to range of audiences.
  • Very proficient in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Proven ability to work competently both on own initiative and as part of a team.
