Operations, Senior Insight Analyst

To produce high-quality analysis and insight reports on all activities the Underwriting Delivery team is responsible for (exception reports, operational performance reports, data quality reports, trend analysis etc.). This is a pivotal role to deliver first-class insights contributing to the creation of a strong team identity and reputation as part of a brand new function and ultimately enhance decision-making.

In addition to strong analytics platforms experience, Lloyd's market knowledge and the ability to interpret and convert data into meaningful insights is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new and challenge/ enhance existing management information (MI) and reports and promptly notify relevant parties of any perceived new risks, failures, quality or performance issues.
  • Where gaps are identified, build MI / performance reporting suite for various stakeholders / committees across all services with compelling insights that answer key business questions in collaboration with the Central Data Office.
  • Conduct both data-led and qualitative analysis.
  • Work closely with the business on process enhancements as and where data quality issues are identified.
  • Where data quality or performance issues are identified as part of the newly created insight reports, liaise closely with the relevant Underwriting Delivery teams and provide feedback and guidance on process improvements / additional controls, which can be implemented to address and eliminate issues.
  • Analyse/ interpret and challenge the weekly and monthly processing statistics provided by internal or outsourced teams.
  • Work closely with the Data team in the creation of intuitive dashboards and data visualisations that showcase the latest analysis and findings with commentary tailored to the relevant audience.
  • Facilitate discussions with business stakeholders to interpret data analytics and foster data awareness, enhancing decision-making.
  • Actively participate / hold presentation where required taking an active role in sharing key learnings and best practice.
  • Implement, review, manage and interpret exception reports on a weekly basis.
  • Own regulatory returns as instructed by the Head of Underwriting Operations and ensure timely submission.
  • Create a reporting and insight framework across all Underwriting Delivery teams by leveraging opportunities offered through standardisation, automation, self-service solutions and artificial intelligence (AI).
  • Mentor and guide junior team members functionally.
  • Ensure that company procedures and systems are followed and maintained, as per procedures and compliance manuals.
  • Provide support in respect of new projects or initiatives, as and when needed.
  • Any other ad-hoc tasks, as necessary.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Lloyd's and London Market experience across multiple business lines.
  • Knowledge of Lloyd's Delegated Authority business.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work with and interpret large volumes of data, specifically Excel data.
  • Advanced experience in data visualisation tools (Power BI) and other data analytics platforms in order to enhance existing and implement new MI and Reporting.
  • Ability to handle a diverse range of priorities and tasks in parallel.
  • Delivery focused and deadline driven.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with business leaders and support decision making.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Change centric - with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • University Degree and/or relevant professional qualification.
  • CII qualifications (preferred).
  • Process Improvement (e.g. Lean Six Sigma).
