Job Description
Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join their Place Directorate on a temporary basis. The postholder will provide financial management support and advice to the service managers across the core financial cycle of budget setting, budget monitoring and closing of the accounts.

Main Responsibilities
Provide high quality senior finance business partner support to revenue and capital budget managers to:
Provide high quality professional advice and support to budget managers, delivering useful insights and translating business intelligence into business success
Support core financial processes and activities for revenue and capital budgets,  including financial planning and budgeting,  financial  management  and  monitoring  activities,  and  financial  year  end  processes
Support  and  challenge  services  to  manage  key  financial  risks  and  play  their  part  in  protecting  the  financial  health  of  the  Councils
Add  value  to  the  Councils  as  an  effective  business  partner
Work  collaboratively  with  Strategic  Finance  Business  Partners  (SFBPs)  to  ensure  key  financial  risks  to  the  Council  are  appropriately  reflected  in  medium  term  financial  plans  and  finance  resource  is  targeted  towards  the  management  and  mitigation  of  these  risks
Work  collaboratively  with  the  Financial  Planning  &  Major  Projects  Team  to  develop  and  manage  the  capital  programme  and  capital  budgets  related  to  the  service  area  being  supportedCandidate Criteria
CCAB/CIMA Qualified Accountant with extensive experience
Experienced in a senior role in a Local Authority finance enviornment
Experience of working with Place services within Local Authority finance is highly desirable
Experience of budget setting, budget monitoring and supporting closure of accounts
