£70k - £90k plus Benefits

The Role

Our client is a leading a Digital Transformation company who are revolutionising their Industry. They are looking for an exceptional Senior Engineer - Portal to play a crucial role in the success of the Programme.

As they approach the second major release of their Programme, the requirement has arisen for someone to join the team to support the introduction of our own Engineering capability and embed engineering best practice and technical excellence alongside our new Head of Software Engineering.

This function currently forms part of the services provided by the development partner they have been working with during the early stages of the Programme. This new role requirement is part of a strategic decision to bring more capability inhouse within the clients Digital team. You would initially be working closely with the development partner as part of the handover of the responsibility for the administration of the Tenancy, as well as working with the rest of the core Digital team, including a newly formed engineering function.

As with all of their core roles, this is a hybrid role. We try to ensure our core team are in the office 2 days per week. They are based in Bedfordshire. The office is open 5 days a week should you require it, otherwise, home working will be required for the remaining time. The role is open to applicants in the UK and holding the necessary right to work documents.

This role is crucial in fulfilling that vision and ensuring that the products we provide are of a high quality. You will report to the Head of Software Engineering and work alongside a small, core team and our digital partners.

This opportunity should allow the successful candidate to expand their technical knowledge and expose them to various parts of an exciting industry.

What will you be doing?

· Designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality C# .NET applications with Angular front-end components.

· Working closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver integrated solutions that meet customer needs.

· Ensuring code quality and maintainability by following best practices in software development, including code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration.

· Identifying and resolving performance and security issues within the solution.

· Aligning our Web Portal with our Power Platform data solution to ensure seamless functionality, data flow and consistency.

· Ensuring smooth alignment between the internal Engineering function and our Development Partner.

· Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

We'd be looking for someone who has…

· Extensive C# and .NET development skills within an Azure Cloud environment.

· Strong understanding of Angular and front-end development.

· The desire to collaborate closely with Product Managers, Product Owners and Data Architects to challenge and support in delivering Racing Digital's vision.

· Taken ownership for the quality of their work through automated testing and close collaboration with QA team members.

· Experience working in an Agile environment where everyone is encouraged to contribute and take ownership for the success of the team.

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills:

· Experience working with Power Platform and Dynamics 365

· Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps Services, automated testing, trunk based development with feature flags and deployment processes.

· Understanding of security best practices and experience implementing security measures in software development.
