We are looking for a Senior Engineer who will join our team of 10, to lead our external API development and integrations across the commerce ecosystem (comprising ecommerce platforms, PSPs and merchants).

The Trudenty Trust Network provides personalised consumer fraud risk intelligence for fraud prevention across the commerce and payments ecosystem, starting with first-party and APP fraud prevention.

We are a remote team, that co-works from London frequently. So easy travel into London should be possible for everyone in our team.

The role

We are seeking a Senior Engineer with a strong focus on API development and integrations, and a background in payments and/or fraud prevention, to join our growing engineering team. This role will be responsible for designing and implementing both internal and external APIs, leading integration efforts for client projects, and setting technical direction for key projects involving complex data pipelines.

A bit more on what you’ll do:

  • API Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable APIs for internal and client-facing services, particularly in the context of payments and/or fraud prevention.
  • Hands-On Coding: Stay actively involved in coding, debugging, and testing to ensure quality and reliability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Data Engineering and Pipeline Management: Work with large, complex data pipelines, with specific experience or knowledge of Open Banking standards, ensuring data integrity, scalability, and security.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide leadership within the engineering team, either by leading a team or demonstrating strong technical influence to set standards, mentor colleagues, and contribute to high-level architectural decisions.
  • Client Integrations: Lead efforts to map out and implement integrations with client systems, ensuring seamless data flow and compatibility.
  • Client hands:Interfacewithclients to effectively communicate technical details to external clients, and guide implementations.

About you:

Proven experience in payments, in either a high-growth startup or established payments technology company. You are highly proficient in Node.js, TypeScript, and cloud platforms (AWS and Google Cloud), with a proven track record of engineering leadership.

What we’re looking for:

  • Technical Expertise: Deep expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, MongoDB and experience with deployment pipelines, CI/CD, git with Google Cloud platforms.
  • Data Engineering Experience: Experience managing and developing large data pipelines, particularly within the context of financial services or Open Banking.
  • APIs & Integrations: Strong background in API design and integration architecture, ideally with experience in complex client implementations.
  • Payments: Hands-on experience or deep knowledge in payment processing (including knowledge of payment gateways, acquiring and issuing) and/or fraud prevention methodologies.
  • Engineering Leadership: Proven experience leading or mentoring engineering teams, with a strong ability to influence and set technical direction.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Analytical and solution-oriented, with a commitment to high-quality standards and continuous improvement.
  • Communication skills:Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to influence and drive problem solving across teams.
  • Education:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
