About the Company
Xcede are delighted to be working with a market leader in the entertainment space with one of the strongest Data Science programmes in its sector. With an ambitious roadmap and strong investment in AI, data science, and engineering, this business is focused on building the most advanced, personalised customer experiences in the industry.

With a dynamic culture rooted in product innovation, agile methodologies, and continuous learning, this is the ideal environment for experienced data professionals who want to shape next-generation predictive and personalisation systems at scale.

About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Data Scientist to take on a key role within a collaborative, forward-thinking Data Science function. Sitting within the personalisation team, you’ll be working alongside machine learning engineers, product stakeholders, and developers to deliver intelligent, customer-facing features starting with personalisation but evolving toward reward systems.

This is a hands-on, end-to-end role where you’ll have full ownership of models, from ideation to deployment, and play a major part in shaping the roadmap for intelligent products across a modern, scalable platform.

Responsibilities

Building scalable, data-driven product features that enhance customer experience and drive automation across the platform.
Translating business requirements into actionable data science solutions, even when context is limited or requirements are evolving.
Working cross-functionally with machine learning engineers, product managers, and other teams to deliver full-lifecycle model implementations.
Maintaining and iterating on models post-deployment, taking ownership of performance monitoring and optimisation.
Writing well-structured, reusable code that adheres to best practices for collaboration, scalability, and maintenance.
Promoting your work and contributing to the visibility of the team both internally and externally.
Coaching peers and less experienced team members through example and support.
Ensuring all work aligns with internal compliance and governance frameworks, reporting any concerns where appropriate.

Requirements

A solid academic foundation in a relevant degree (MSc or higher, ideally).
Proven success designing, building, and deploying machine learning models into production environments.
Strong Python and SQL skills, with practical experience using distributed processing tools such as Spark.
A proactive, self-starting approach to problem solving, especially in cases where clear precedents or frameworks don’t exist.
Clear and confident communication skills; able to collaborate effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
Solid understanding of experimentation methodologies, including AB testing and statistical analysis.
An interest in sports, gaming, or personalisation domains is highly advantageous.
Familiarity with CI/CD practices and the broader software delivery lifecycle, including governance and release management.
A mentoring mindset, with a desire to coach junior team members and raise the overall capability of the team.
