Job Title

Senior Data Engineer


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and support key data pipelines, products and services that power analytics, AI, and customer-facing features.
  • Work with key business domains to understand their requirements; extracting and modeling data to match these requirements.
  • Draw upon broader industry techniques to data management and implement them proactively.
  • Design, implement and optimise large‑scale data management solutions, balancing cost and efficiency.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot performance or data quality issues, ensuring well‑modeled data that consistently meets data quality benchmarks.
  • Communicate technical concepts and designs to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Proactively contribute to the team roadmap, defining tasks in sometimes ambiguous circumstances and producing outcome‑focused deliverables with demonstrable impact.
  • Coach and develop those around you, helping to raise the bar across the team and spread influence across broader teams.

Technical Requirements

  • Experience with DataOps methods and data quality improvement techniques.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and continuous delivery.
  • Proficiency with continuous integration pipelines and technologies.
  • Proficiency with DevOps concepts and tooling (Terraform, Kubernetes, etc.).
  • Proficiency with cloud services (ideally AWS).
  • Proficiency with data modeling tools and techniques (dbt).
  • Experience with large‑scale data processing (Spark, Hadoop, Pig, etc.).
  • Proficiency with structured or custom ETL/ELT management (Airflow, Dagster, etc.).
  • Experience or proven interest in AI/MLOps technologies.
  • Proficiency with SQL databases (Relational, Snowflake, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills.
