Hybrid role with 80% homeworking and 20% in Stratford-upon-Avon
About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Compliance Consultant to join our Compliance Consultancy team. In this pivotal role you’ll communicate regulatory standards to senior managers, and influence and challenge where appropriate to ensure NFU Mutual continues to remain within our regulatory risk appetite.
As part of our wider Risk function, our Compliance Consultancy team ensures we’re abiding by Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulations which could impact NFU Mutual, so you’ll play a key part in maintaining our reputation and our integrity, guiding and supporting our business to ensure our customers remain at the heart of our business and that NFU Mutual delivers good customer outcomes.
Your leadership will be instrumental in managing and coaching the General Insurance section of the Compliance Consultancy team to interpret and communicate regulatory changes, partner with key stakeholders, and champion compliance best practice.
You’ll play a key part in facilitating FCA thematic reviews and anticipate and escalate actual and emerging conduct risks. You’ll assist in reporting to NFU Mutual’s key governance committees, providing valuable management information, regulatory updates and insights from consultancy activity. Additionally, you’ll recommend and implement procedural enhancements to optimise consultancy activities and increase efficiency.
Building strong, lasting relationships with colleagues from our Compliance Department, Risk Division, business stakeholders and professional bodies will be essential to enhance the value of consultancy work. You’ll also manage short-term projects and activities to meet specified standards and outcomes.
This role is based in our Tiddington Head office, just outside Stratford-Upon-Avon. However, we understand how important a positive work-life balance is, so to help you give your best, we offer great facilities when you want to be in an office environment and support to work up to 80% of your hours from home.
About you:
You’ll have a detailed understanding of risk and compliance management, with demonstrable leadership skills and the ability to manage an engaged, proactive team of risk professionals.
A strong relationship builder, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to adapt yourself to suit different audiences and investigate issues in a diplomatic manner. You build effective networks at a senior level to help you engage and influence both internal and external stakeholders.
With a focus on interpreting and communicating regulation, you’re a risk professional who can communicate technical information effectively to non-technical audiences. You are a strong strategic thinker, with a track record of planning and implementing efficiencies within and across busy teams. You’re able to translate strategy into operational delivery and value enhancing solutions.
You take the initiative and thrive in a busy and diverse environment where you can use your expertise to make sound decisions, influencing and challenging both senior managers and operational teams in a collaborative manner. You are accomplished and self-assured at making pragmatic, commercially viable decisions in critical, often pressurised situations, recognising the value of data analytics to support your thinking.
At NFU Mutual, we support an inclusive workplace and value all the differences that make us unique. We celebrate the creativity and innovation that comes from diverse perspectives and experiences and share a common vision of doing the right thing for our customers and employees.
We recognise that some candidates may experience barriers during the recruitment process. So, we encourage candidates to discuss any adjustments or accommodations they need to be the best they can be throughout our recruitment process.
We're proud to be a Disability Confident Employer, a Race at Work and Women in Finance Charter signatory and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, regardless of age, ethnicity, disability, neurodiversity, gender, religion, marital status, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background.
