ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Research and Insights Analyst to support the ambitious growth plans of the business. The Technology Department is at the very start of an extremely exciting journey, which makes this role a fantastic opportunity for someone who is ambitious and really wants to make an impact and demonstrate their skills in this field.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As Research and Insights Analyst, you will be accountable for supporting the Technology strategy of the Group. Aa such, we see the key responsibilities of the role as being:
- Gathering requirements for key Business Intelligence Reporting from end users and translating these into delivered dashboards and reports
- Developing data collection plans for all evaluation activities, including data flow diagrams and processes for key technical work.
- Interpreting and analysing large and varied amounts of complex data to provide accessible, meaningful, and understandable insight to a broad spectrum of end users
- Building innovative and effective approaches to solve business analytics problems and communicating clear and relevant results and methodologies.
- Handling and mining of large, diverse data sets with an ability to work with both structured and unstructured data.
- Interpreting the analysis to tell a straightforward and compelling business and communicate this effectively to a wide audience with different business interests and skill sets.
- Informing and coaching end users to develop a better understanding of the role of data and the inherent possibilities this represents – from optimising incremental behaviours and performance to transforming the future and fortunes of the business.
- Formulating proposals for new datasets or changes to the analysis and makeup of existing Data, to better meet business needs
- Providing a proactive data research service, in addition to regular and reactive reporting needs, aiming to tell the story nobody is reading yet and answer the questions nobody is asking yet
- Working with the Data Engineer to specify Data required for reporting and ensure it reaches the Data Warehouse clean and actionable
- Ensuring that data is stored in line with key processes and legislation, and deleted in line with existing protocols, and work with colleagues to ensure that these are updated as new best practice emerges.
- Working with the Group Business Systems Manager to ensure Data Quality within Core Systems is high, and any issues are resolved for good
- Acting as a first line support to troubleshoot issues to do with the data and the use of it. Acting as the primary contact in relation to any data related issues
- Driving innovation by keeping up to date on emerging methods and technologies and recommending how these can be practically implemented to improve business performance.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience analysing quantitative data from a range of sources
- Experience performing proactive data research using a range of methodologies
- Ability to analyse quantitative data and to apply a range of statistical approaches
- Experience developing dashboards and reporting in a BI tool (ideally PowerBI)
- Proven skills in SQL, DAX, Python and/or R
- Experience in cleansing Data and implementing methods for ensuring Data Quality
- Ability to manage and take responsibility for own workloads, handle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
- Experience gathering user requirements directly and using them to deliver meaningful data insight
- Proven ability to translate the essence of complex data into languages and formats others will understand
- Ability to understand relational database structure and design, including reporting and data extraction
- Experience translating abstract business questions into analytical insights
- Ability to perform thorough research into different methods of analysis and produce written reviews (Desirable)
- Experience providing analysis of Sales and Financial Data (Desirable).
