When you join us as a Project Controls Data Analyst, you'll share our reputation for high-quality work and always doing what's right. Your workload will be diverse and exciting. You'll support project teams on niche and high-profile schemes within complex infrastructure, from evaluating project time, cost, and quality targets to leading communication and monitoring project governance control for successful delivery. You'll work across a range of projects in the Transportation, Infrastructure, Utilities and Energy sectors.

Your Purpose:

  • Manage and develop robust data models underpinning interactive dashboard visualisations that provide management insights and highlight actionable intelligence around specific areas of concern through root cause analysis evaluation.
  • Understand construction project controls processes and business process analysis, able to interrogate client's ways of working, and then design and document their business processes with digitalisation in mind.
  • Responsible for periodic and ad-hoc reporting, taking ownership for its quality, accuracy, and robustness, and ensure the monthly project review pack is compiled and presented to the leadership team on time.
  • Support the Project Controls lead to establish, monitor, and manage the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) and periodically collate KPIs & progress data related to time, cost, risk, change and quality to report to senior leaders of the project.
  • Contribute to develop and implement an appropriate performance measurement system such as earned value management and integrate it into periodic reporting.
  • Help to integrate schedule, cost, scope, quality, change and risk data to provide a full picture of project health and provide interpretation of the data contained in monthly reporting pack to support prompt decision making.
  • Share lessons learned and best practice within the Project Controls community.


Required experience:

  • Proven experience in transforming and organizing large data sets using Power Query, ensuring the data is structured for effective analysis and reporting.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for advanced insights and calculations.
  • Experience in developing interactive and user-friendly dashboards in Power BI, translating complex data into actionable intelligence for stakeholders.
  • Expertise in Advanced Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data visualisation, and automation to support robust data analysis and reporting.


What you can bring:

  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Power Suite of applications, able to use Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI to build input forms, develop workflow processes and generate attractive & interactive visualisation.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in performing project controls within large, complex infrastructure or construction projects.
  • Working knowledge of schedule management, cost management and risk management principles.
  • Experience in being part of a Project Controls team and delivering results within a large-scale project environment.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders and information flow in a matrix environment, possessing a strong aptitude toward working horizontally across business areas and vertically to senior levels of management, providing specialist advice as required.
  • Knowledge of transport, energy, major infrastructure, or construction projects (under NEC Forms of Contract), specifically surrounding client and consultancy.
