My Financial Services client is seeking to recruit an Oracle Data Warehouse Architect on an initial 6 month contract for a Financial Services client based in London. It is hybrid and will require 3x days onsite per week.

You will design, optimize, and maintain Oracle-based data warehouse solutions to ensure high performance, scalability, and alignment with business intelligence and analytics needs.

This role requires the individual to design and optimize Oracle-based data warehouse systems, ensuring they are scalable, high-performing, and aligned with business analytics needs. They will collaborate closely with the head of the data team and .NET developers, applying advanced data modelling, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will be able to translate complex technical insights into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Skills Required:

Strong experience in designing and developing efficient ETL processes to support enterprise-scale Oracle Data Warehouse environments.
Proven ability to optimize and tune complex SQL and PL/SQL scripts for performance, while guiding development teams on best practices for data modelling, indexing, and partitioning strategies.
Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving issues in ETL workflows and data pipelines, with a focus on maintaining data quality and system reliability.
This role may occasionally require early morning or late-night support as part of a second-line support rotation, particularly during critical data loads or performance incidents.
Ensure the stability, performance, and scalability of production and non-production Oracle Data Warehouse environments, including regular monitoring of data integrity, system health, and capacity planning.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data warehouse performance, ETL processes, and data availability, including coordination with global Oracle support teams in New York and Ireland when necessary.
Design and maintain disaster recovery strategies for the Oracle Data Warehouse, ensuring business continuity and alignment with enterprise recovery objectives.
Collaborate with development, application support, and technical teams to address data-related issues, acting as a second-line support resource for complex warehouse and ETL challenges.
Engage with global technical teams to review and discuss architectural improvements, performance trends, and development impacts on the data warehouse environment.
Serve as a technical consultant on data architecture, modelling, and performance optimization for cross-functional projects and initiatives.
Evaluate the impact of proposed changes by development teams on the data warehouse structure and performance, recommending alternative solutions where appropriate.
Support the rollout of development changes in collaboration with global DBA teams, ensuring proper documentation and version control of all modifications

Pre-Employment Checks for Data Science Jobs: DBS, References & Right-to-Work and more Explained

Pre-employment screening in data science reflects the discipline's unique position at the intersection of statistical analysis, machine learning innovation, and strategic business intelligence. Data scientists often have privileged access to comprehensive datasets, proprietary algorithms, and business-critical insights that form the foundation of organisational strategy and competitive positioning. The data science industry operates within complex regulatory frameworks spanning GDPR, sector-specific data protection requirements, and emerging AI governance regulations. Data scientists must demonstrate not only technical competence in statistical modelling and machine learning but also deep understanding of research ethics, data privacy principles, and the societal implications of algorithmic decision-making. Modern data science roles frequently involve analysing personally identifiable information, financial data, healthcare records, and sensitive business intelligence across multiple jurisdictions and regulatory frameworks simultaneously. The combination of analytical privilege, predictive capabilities, and strategic influence makes thorough candidate verification essential for maintaining compliance, security, and public trust in data-driven insights and automated systems.
