Job Description
We are seeking a qualified accountant with an interest in funds to join our Asset Owner Solutions team in either London or Belfast. You will provide expertise on accounting matters for large onboarding AOS clients with particular focus on private markets, i.e. private equity, venture capital, real estate as well as hybrid structures. Furthermore, you will assist the Head of Delivery on aspects related to the development of AOS products and services, as well as streamlining current reporting solutions. Day to day

  • Provide subject matter expertise in technical accounting areas during the onboarding of AOS clients – this includes engaging with project managers and clients in requirements gathering, clarifying and advising on accounting and reporting best practice.
  • Outside onboarding activity, contribute to BAU reporting deliverables and efficiency projects.
  • Support AOS technology activity:
    • Tableau/Cosmos front end visualisation tools.
    • Interaction of accounting systems and other databases.
    • Data management and change management.
    • Testing of new solutions.
    • Proof of concept development.
  • Risk management:
    • Ensure operational resilience exists within AOS by ensuring the procedures and any bespoke solutions are documented for business continuity.
    • Identify ways to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness in the division’s systems and processes.
    • Ensure client specific checklists / workflows are designed to mitigate functional risks.

Qualifications

  • University Degree in Accountancy/Finance/Maths.
  • CPA or CIMA/ACCA qualified.
  • Previous financial services experience with particular focus on fund administration and/or portfolio monitoring solutions (desirable).
  • Experience in delivering large scale projects involving creation and maintenance of analytical and financial reporting solutions to clients.
  • Experience in the development of standardised and customised reports (accounting/finance related) for asset owners (i.e. investors, family offices, financial institutions etc).
  • Work with cross functional teams including data engineers, business analysts and product managers.
  • Funds / Hedge Fund industry experience (desirable).
  • Experience with reporting of financial performance, trends and key performance metrics (such as IRRs, DPI, time weighted returns) on a frequent basis.
  • Strong excel skills including management of complex data sets and calculations.
  • Accounting system exposure such as FIS Investran, Paxus, SAP.
  • Business Intelligence applications such as PowerBI, Tableau.
