Role: Mechanical Inspector
Location: Basingstoke

Working Hours

40 hours per week

Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:30
Friday: 07:30 - 14:00Pay

Up to £17.50 per hour (depending on experience)

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Inspector with strong manual measurement and numeracy skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in CNC machining and precision manufacturing environments.

Education & Experience

Advanced Apprenticeship or Higher Education qualification in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
Proven experience as a Mechanical/Quality Inspector in a CNC or precision engineering environment (essential)Key Skills & Knowledge

Proficient with handheld measuring tools, linear height gauges, bore gauges, surface finish testers, etc.
Strong numeracy and attention to detail
Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
Knowledge of quality systems (preferably AS9100)
CMM operation experience (Mitutoyo preferred)
Excellent communication and time management skillsMain Duties & Responsibilities

Perform goods-inwards, in-process, and final inspections using various tools and techniques
Conduct routine visual and dimensional inspections for surface defects and other quality criteria
Produce inspection reports and complete Certificates of Conformance (CofCs), FAIRs, and customer QA documentation
Raise NCRs when necessary and support the 8D process
Verify processing in accordance with route cards
Assist in maintaining an accurate and up-to-date calibration system
Collaborate with section leaders and production teams to ensure accurate documentation
Carry out additional tasks as directed by the Inspection Team Leader and Head of Quality Improvement & AssuranceHow to Apply
