Head of Building Safety and Compliance

Are you passionate about building safety and customer wellbeing? We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Building Safety & Compliance to join Golding Homes as a key member of our Strategic Asset Management Leadership Team.

In this pivotal role, you'll lead our Building Safety and Compliance teams to ensure the highest standards of safety and legal compliance across all properties owned and managed by Golding Homes. From managing building and fire safety risks to embedding a strong performance-based health and safety culture, you’ll make a direct impact on the lives of our residents and the future of our housing stock.

What You’ll Be Doing



Own and deliver strategies to ensure full compliance with legislation and landlord duties, including Building Safety, Fire Safety, and Mechanical & Electrical systems.

Lead and inspire teams to effectively manage risk, carry out inspections and certification, and deliver servicing, remedial works, and customer engagement.

Oversee contract management, post-contract developer defects, and data integrity across compliance systems.

*

Be accountable for Golding’s duties under the Building Safety Act, including acting as Principal Accountable Person and managing the Golden Thread of information.

*

Provide strategic advice to the Board and Executive Team on safety compliance, legal obligations, and performance.

*

Champion resident engagement in building safety through customer panels and feedback strategies.

More About You

Education & Professional Qualifications

*

Degree qualified and a member of a relevant professional body.

*

NEBOSH Construction Certificate and Diploma (or equivalent) – essential.

*

Chartered IOSH status – desirable.

*

Building Safety Management qualification and P405 Asbestos Management – desirable.

Experience & Skills

*

Proven experience leading compliance and fire/building safety strategies in housing or construction.

*

Strong background in contract administration and managing external contractors.

*

Ability to translate complex legal and safety standards into clear, actionable plans.

*

Demonstrated success in embedding safety-first cultures and improving compliance outcomes.

*

Excellent interpersonal, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.

When and where you'll be doing it

You will enjoy a 37-hour working week and earn an annual salary of £84,688 depending upon your knowledge, skills and experience.
