About the role

We are looking for an experiencedMarketing Automation Managerwith deep expertise inEmarsysto architect and manage our email automation and customer engagement strategies. This role is technical in nature, focusing on maximizing the functionality and capabilities of Emarsys to drive precision-targeted, data-driven email campaigns. The ideal candidate is technically adept, with a strong background in configuring complex automation workflows, data management, and integrating Emarsys with broader marketing tech stacks.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Automation Architecture & Configuration:Design and build complex, multi-step automation workflows in Emarsys. Leverage advanced segmentation, personalized content blocks, and conditional logic to deliver dynamic and contextually relevant email experiences across customer journeys.
  2. Advanced Segmentation & Personalization:Utilize Emarsys’s advanced segmentation features, using SQL to build data-driven audience segments. Enable personalized experiences by incorporating real-time data, behavioural triggers, and predictive content personalization.
  3. Integration & Data Syncing:Collaborate closely with IT and Data Engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of Emarsys with multiple other data systems. Work with Tech on the setup of data pipelines and API integrations to bring in external data sources (e.g., transactional, behavioural, and product data) and maintain high data fidelity within Emarsys.
  4. Complex Event-Driven Triggers:Develop and deploy sophisticated, event-triggered based on user interactions and real-time data inputs. Optimize event triggers and conditions to achieve highly responsive and contextual messaging.
  5. A/B and Multivariate Testing:Design and execute robust A/B and multivariate tests to optimize subject lines, content, personalization elements, and send times. Use Emarsys’s testing framework to systematically improve campaign performance and refine workflows based on statistically significant results.
  6. Performance Monitoring & Reporting:Set up and monitor custom reports and dashboards in Emarsys to track KPIs like deliverability, open rates, CTR, and conversion rates. Conduct deep-dive analysis to uncover trends and areas for optimization and integrate findings into ongoing campaign iterations.
  7. Platform Maintenance & Troubleshooting:Oversee the technical integrity of the Emarsys instance, managing configurations, troubleshooting errors, and optimizing settings to maintain platform health and high deliverability. Work with Emarsys support when necessary to resolve issues.

Technical Qualifications:

  1. Email Automation Expertise:3-5 years of experience in email automation, with specific advanced use of Emarsys, including deep familiarity with its Automation Centre and Smart Insight.
  2. Technical Skills:Highly proficient in HTML and CSS for email customization. Confidence with SQL for query-based segmentation and the use of Emarsys’s API for integration with other platforms. Experience in ESL and dynamic content scripting for personalized emails is preferred.
  3. Data Proficiency:Strong understanding of data structures, database integration, and ETL processes. Experience working with customer and event-based data to inform segmentation and automation strategies.
  4. Analytical Skills:Ability to analyze complex data sets, interpret campaign metrics, and generate actionable insights. Proficiency in reporting tools and experience with Emarsys Analytics and/or external BI tools.
  5. Project Management:Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end projects, from design to deployment, while coordinating across teams. Skilled in documentation and process optimization.
