Michael Page are delighted to exclusively partner with our client to recruit an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant. This will play a key role in supporting financial operations with business partnering, financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis to drive business performance.

Description

The successful candidate will likely have the following responsibilities:

Management Reporting & Performance Analysis:

Prepare monthly management accounts with detailed variance analysis.
Track financial performance against budget and forecast, highlighting risks and opportunities.
Produce regular reports for departmental managers, summarising costs, margins, and KPIs.
Analyse direct labour costs, materials usage, overheads, and production efficiency.
Partner with operations and commercial teams to interpret results and improve cost control.Business Partnering & Commercial Support:

Provide financial insight to support operational, commercial, and strategic initiatives.
Assist with pricing analysis, profitability reviews, and customer or product margin analysis.
Support investment appraisals, cost-saving initiatives, and business cases.
Contribute to KPI development and tracking across the businessBudgeting & Forecasting:

Coordinate annual budget and periodic forecasting processes.
Work with budget holders to develop accurate, informed financial plans.
Monitor actual performance against forecast and support reforecasting where needed.Reporting & Systems:

Develop and maintain financial models, reports, and dashboards.
Improve the use of financial systems and automation of reporting processes.
Ensure consistency and clarity in reporting across the business.Financial Controls & Continuous Improvement:

Maintain process documentation for management reporting routines.
Support improvements in ERP/reporting systems and cost centre structure.
Assist with year-end audit prep as needed.
Work with the Financial Accountant to ensure consistency of data across management and statutory reports.Change Management & Process Improvement:

Proactively identify opportunities to improve financial planning, reporting, and analysis processes to drive greater efficiency, accuracy, and insight.
Support the implementation of new tools, systems, or reporting frameworks, acting as a finance representative in cross-functional projects.
Work closely with operational teams to streamline data collection and reporting, reducing manual effort and enhancing data integrity.
Champion the use of dashboards, automation, and self serve reporting to empower stakeholders with timely, actionable insights.
Contribute to the design and rollout of process improvements, including cost tracking, forecasting, and business case evaluation.
Support change initiatives by ensuring financial impacts are accurately modelled and communicated to stakeholders.Costing & Payroll Reconciliation:

Monitor and reconcile payroll data to labour hours and cost of goods sold.
Liaise with HR and payroll provider to ensure accuracy of payroll inputs and outputs.
Analyse direct and indirect labour costs and advise on trends or discrepancies.
Maintain standard costing models and advise on cost control opportunities.

Profile

The successful candidate will likely have the following profile:

Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) or QBE
Exp in a management accounting or FP&A role
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data
Good understanding of manufacturing cost structures and operational drivers
Excellent Excel skills and exp with accounting systems
Exp in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Familiarity with labour costing, standard costing, or variance analysis
Exposure to Power BI or similar reporting toolsJob Offer

This role offers a competitive salary between £50,000-£60,000 DOE + Bonus and wider benefits
