Job Summary
The purpose of the role is to act as a Data Analytics SME for the CLUK Internal audit team. The role will be primarily responsible for leading the development and implementation of CLUKs data analytics approach.
The role holder will also work with other data analytics SMEs across the global Internal Audit function to develop capability and share best practice:
• Understand and map CLUK data architecture to allow the extraction and use of data to assess risk and deliver individual audits.
• Identify opportunities for use of data in audit planning and delivery, including developing data driven audit tests and procedures.
• Support delivery of audit work through data driven testing using a range of data analytics tools such as Power BI.
• Act as a data analytics champion and share knowledge and practice across the CLUK Audit Team and Data Analytics Community of practice to foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
• Develop a data driven approach to continuous monitoring through data driven testing.
This role reports to the Internal Audit Management team and will be provide SME support to Internal Auditors and Senior Internal Auditors in delivering audit work.
What You'll Do
• Understand and map the data structures for CLUKs businesses
• Support the development of the internal audit plan through data analysis to identify key risks
• Develop, test and launch continuous auditing utilising data driven testing
• Working with the CLUK Internal Audit team identify audits where data driven testing can support delivery, developing approaches to testing and delivering insight from these to support audit opinions
• Be an active member of the global Data Analytics Community of Practice.
• Support wider team development through developing and delivering training on data analytics tools and techniques.
• Explore the potential for using AI alongside current data analytics tools.
Who You Are
Technical Knowledge
• Subject Matter Expert for Data Analytics for the UK audit team as well as working as part of a global team sharing knowledge and best practice across Internal Audit.
• Ability to map data from a complex mix of systems to support risk assessment of the business when developing the audit plan and to identify data analytics opportunities for individual audit engagements.
• Knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques including Advanced Excel skills such as VLOOKUP's, IF functions, pivot tables and creation of charts to support analysis. Experience of using data analysis tools (e.g. Power BI, IDEA, Salesforce, Tableau).
• Confident in handling and manipulating numerical data and calculations to identify risks and issues for individual audit engagements.
• Knowledge of assurance principles desirable but not essential to support delivery of audit engagements.
• Python coding knowledge desirable but not essential with support available to develop this skill.

Qualifications
• Data Analytics Certification or willingness to work towards one.
