Role: Head of Operations

Location: DE21, Wyvern Business Park, Derby

Hours of work: 09:00 – 17:00 Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week)

Salary: £50,000 Per Annum (Negotiable DOE)

    Summary of the role:

    The Head of Operations has significant responsibilities and a major role to play in the exciting development of RLG. The Head of Operations will have responsibility for the leadership, development and consistent smooth running of all Group Operations, continually driving improved standards and performance. These areas currently include acquisition and new branch on-boarding, property management, enhancement of existing ways of working through the identification and implementation of operational efficiencies, project management and general positive running of all business operations.

    Responsibility for the leadership and development of all operational staff and for the performance of this area of RLG. The Head of Operations will also make a significant contribution to the wider work of the Group.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Be accountable for the overall delivery, development and performance of an agreed set of operational services within the RLG Operations Division.

  • Lead, motivate and develop the teams in the areas detailed above; carry out the line management of key staff and ensure that appropriate measures are in place for the line management of all Division staff to achieve Group objectives.

  • To act as a key contact point for the RLG branch community to ensure all areas are performing in line with operational processes

  • To provide leadership to all staff working within the Operations department of the business, ensuring the right calibre of staff are recruited into key roles and in accordance with company policy, and ensuring all operating within their required service level.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders and third parties that the department works with to ensure smooth delivery of services and continued growth.

  • Act as mentor to department managers to assist them to meet their objectives and aid their development and effectiveness against company priorities. Creating a development framework and succession plan, providing/organising training where required.

  • Plan, own and control change projects across the business, supporting where appropriate departmental and divisional heads in line with the company business plan.

  • Provide effective project management duties including overseeing project completion timelines, monitoring project costs and ensuring stakeholders needs are met.

  • Report regularly to the Operations Director on full project(s) progression, including budget and time outcomes.

  • Identify patterns and problem areas and implement effective solutions to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Ensure robust Business Intelligence reporting within the business is further enhanced to meet the ongoing needs of the business.

  • Work alongside the Leadership team to set goals and promote company growth in line with company strategy in business and financial planning as set by the Board.

  • Promote and develop company culture across the Right Legal Group branch community.

  • Prepare high quality update reports as required.
