Role Overview

HIVED is revolutionising parcel delivery in the UK, offering a better service for shippers & consumers and operating a fully electric fleet from day one.  As we continue to rapidly grow our business, we are looking to hire a Head of Business Partnering to lead all Finance engagement with Operations and Sales.

As the Finance Business Partner, you will be the key financial liaison between Finance and the Operations & Sales teams. Your role will be critical in ensuring financial rigour in decision-making, budgeting, and performance management. You will provide actionable insights, track key performance indicators, and support strategic initiatives that drive operational excellence and profitability. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role offers significant growth potential, including leading a team that will expand over time.

In this role, you’ll engage with senior leaders across the business positioning yourself to be a key leader of the business as it scales. You’ll make a tangible impact on our performance and contribute to shaping how we expand.

Responsibilities 

  • Investment & Commercial Analysis:Evaluate capital expenditure, new projects, and operational strategies from a financial perspective to drive ROI & growth
  • Team leadership:Oversee a team over time at head office and at depot level
  • Financial Planning & Analysis:Lead budgeting and forecasting processes for Operations & Commercial, ensuring alignment with strategic and financial objectives
  • Performance Tracking:Develop and maintain robust financial models to track operational performance against key metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement
  • Business Partnering:Work closely with operational leaders to provide financial insight and challenge decision-making, ensuring efficiency, readiness for growth, and cost control
  • Cost Management:Analyse cost structures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support initiatives to enhance profitability
  • Reporting & Insights:Produce regular financial reports and dashboards, translating data into clear and actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders
  • Process Improvement:Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting to enhance decision-making speed and accuracy
  • Risk Management:Identify financial risks within operations and work with teams to mitigate them proactively

 Requirements 

  • Experienced:7+ years of finance experience, focusing on business partnering, in logistics, transportation, or similar operationally-focused industries
  • Leader:Proven leadership experience, with a track record of building, mentoring and developing high-performing teams
  • Communicative:Excellent communication and influencing abilities, including experience challenging and collaborating with senior stakeholders
  • Analytical:Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with proven ability to interpret complex data. Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis. Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus
  • Commercial:Commercial mindset with proven ability to balance financial and operational priorities
  • Entrepreneurial:Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Qualified:Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
