Are you a strategic procurement professional with a proven track record in the utilities or engineering sector? We are seeking a Group Supply Chain Manager to lead and optimise procurement strategies, supplier relationships, and purchasing processes across our organisation.

Location: Flexible/Remote (with occasional office working in Stockport)

About the Role As a Group Supply Chain Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our procurement strategy. You will lead a team of procurement professionals, drive supplier performance, and ensure that our supply chain operations align with business objectives, cost efficiencies, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement procurement strategies, policies, and processes that align with business objectives and industry best practices.

Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of procurement professionals, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring procurement strategies support broader business needs.

Oversee supplier sourcing, contract negotiations, and relationship management to drive cost savings and quality improvements.

Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and industry developments to identify areas for strategic procurement enhancements.

Lead initiatives such as supplier consolidation and vendor rationalisation to achieve economies of scale.

Develop and manage procurement budgets, tracking expenditure and cost-saving measures to support financial objectives.

Leverage procurement technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency and data analytics capabilities.

Collaborate with finance, operations, and legal teams to integrate procurement activities into overall business processes.

Establish and oversee supplier performance management programmes, driving continuous improvement and compliance.

Skills & Experience
Extensive experience in procurement or supply chain management, within utilities, engineering, or construction.

Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to drive collaboration and performance.

Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation abilities.

Experience with civils, utilities, and/or M&E supply chains.

Strategic mindset with strong analytical capabilities to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

Expertise in contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.

Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, procurement, or a related field (Master’s degree or CIPS certification desirable).

Deep understanding of procurement best practices, regulatory compliance, and industry trends.

Strong project management skills, capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
