In this role, you will play a crucial part in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to fire safety product sales, service performance, and market trends. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in data analytics within a specialized, safety-critical industry.

Key Accountabilities

Data Collection & Analysis

  • Gather, clean, and maintain datasets related to sales, customers, and market activity.
  • Conduct regular and ad-hoc data analysis to support strategic initiatives.
  • Translate raw data into meaningful insights through charts, summaries, and commentary.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and performance gaps across key business areas.

Reporting & Visualisation

  • Support the creation of dashboards and reports using Excel and/or Power BI.
  • Provide data summaries to assist sales managers and other stakeholders in decision-making.
  • Track and present key performance indicators (KPIs) across the business.

Market & Competitor Research

  • Assist in gathering and analyzing data on competitors, customer needs, and industry trends.
  • Support strategic projects with data-driven research and insights.
  • Contribute to forecasting efforts using historical sales and market data.

Operational & Process Support

  • Help improve data processes and recommend ways to streamline reporting.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (sales, operations, marketing) to support data needs.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records and ensuring high data quality.

What We’re Looking For

Education and Experience

  • A recent degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Business Management, or a related discipline.
  • Exposure to working with datasets through academic projects, internships, or previous work experience.
  • Interest in working within a technical or commercial environment, such as HVAC or engineering services.
  • (Desirable) Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) or business intelligence platforms.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Organised and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proactive, eager to learn, and adaptable to new challenges.
  • Team player who can also work independently when required.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and charting.
  • Ability to interpret quantitative data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Understanding of data cleaning, validation, and reporting best practices is desirable.
