As a Governance & Reporting Lead, your role is to support the Head of OPAL (Operational Projects & Logistics) Business Planning in developing, monitoring, and providing governance for the full range of projects, programmes, and continuous improvement initiatives within OPAL.
Improve the quality of information reported at the programme/department level and ensure adherence to the programme framework to maintain clear audit trails and accountability.
Work within a unique cross-functional team, balancing operational demand and strategic thinking to influence decisions at different levels.
What you’ll be doing as a Governance & Reporting Lead
Project Governance:
Actively monitor and manage the reporting of programme performance against plan. Establish and maintain frameworks and standards for Programme and Project Management. Provide and maintain a capacity planning and resource tracking service across the Programme.
Risk Management: Record Risks, Issues, Assumptions, Dependencies and Opportunities (RAIDO) with business leads, project managers and SMEs. Maintain the department records across multiple platforms to allow for risk monitoring at every level from team to Exec. Prepare regular updates and progress reports to keep the momentum of risk mitigation. Present a risk overview monthly to the senior leadership team. Performance Reporting: Work with data owners to identify and format required data to feed into KPI creation. Work in conjunction with the Data and Reporting Leads/Analysts to ensure robust performance reporting across governance, costs, and benefits throughout the lifecycle of our programmes or projects. Management of Administration: Facilitate slide pack creation and updates as required for senior leadership meetings including weekly, monthly and quarterly schedules of regular and ad-hoc requirements. Ensure governance documentation is maintained across all programmes, projects, and initiatives inclusive of Stage-Gate administration. Work collaboratively with the Data Analysts and Finance Business Partner to ensure project forecasts and actuals and maintained and up to date. Maintenance of project spaces such as through Sharepoint.What should you bring to the role?
Essential: Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Powerpoint, MS Project and Visio are essential. Desirable: Qualification in PMO or other relevant Project Management or Project Governance subjects. Someone with previous experience working within a PMO or reporting function who has experience supporting small- or large-scale projects. The ability to work as part of a team, with strong interpersonal and communication (both oral and written) skills, with the ability to influence and challenge at all levels.What’s in it for you?Salary - Offering up to £46,900 per annum depending on experience and skills.
