About the role

We are looking for a versatile Pricing manager to lead a team of data scientists and analysts to deliver business and customer value through the use of cutting-edge techniques. Spotting opportunities and working across multiple areas of the business to help us deliver the key business goals. This person will have the ability to manage a team of highly technical individuals, as well as strategically deliver business projects across areas such as pricing optimisation, model performance evaluation, pricing related business indicators and adhoc analysis.

Responsibilities

  1. Be a key contributor to the pricing strategy across multiple business areas.
  2. Lead a team of data scientists and analysts to achieve the business’ objectives across multiple use cases such as pricing optimisation, models and analysis.
  3. Influence the evolution and continuous improvement of the company’s predictive modelling and machine learning techniques to deliver high impact solutions.
  4. Work as part of companywide collaborative squads, ensuring data driven decisions, with the use of predictive analytics.
  5. Be able to analyse, communicate and explain data science use across multiple projects in a way that will influence key stakeholders from across the business.
  6. Where necessary monitor performance, profitability, and competitor behaviour to help hit business targets.
  7. Ensure that recommendations result in customers being treated fairly.
  8. Be an advocate for data driven decisions and decision science across internal and external stakeholders, being a thought leader for decision science.

Requirements

  1. Excellent relationship management.
  2. Innovative and pragmatic problem solver.
  3. Find opportunities to enhance the business through data and data science practices.
  4. In-depth statistical skills, with the ability to criticise, review and sign-off models to then be deployed live.
  5. Ability to translate between both technical and non-technical colleagues and become a bridge between more traditional areas of business, driving them to be more sophisticated.
  6. Understanding and ability to actively implement statistical tests and analyses, scripting, and automation techniques for efficient model implementations.
  7. Use of AWS or Databricks to help guide the team in building pipelines and models for data science, ensuring best practices.
  8. Excellent at data wrangling and ability to analyse data where required.
  9. Ability to understand multiple domains and how to implement data science into them.
  10. Strong understanding of domains such as pricing and statistics as well as the key drivers of performance within the financial services sector.
  11. Data driven, customer level strategic decision/data science techniques.
  12. Proficient in Machine Learning models.
  13. Experience managing teams.
