AsData Quality Manager, you will be critical in supporting the business in achieve its long-term Data Transformation Programme through contribution to establishing the Data Quality Framework across the organisation to improve data quality and enhance business decision-making.

You will help improve business performance in Southern Water through your experience in Data Quality Management and the application of data quality monitoring and issue resolution to key business domains.

We prioritise value over everything, and you will be expected to seek out opportunities where you can deliver the most impact. Developing KPI's and metrics to track performance, engaging key stakeholders, and providing visibility and recommendations to Data Owners.

Interfacing with the organisation will require strong communication and business acumen to affect change and influence a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

The Data and Analytics Team are driving improvement across the organisation with the launch of a new Data Strategy and you will be expected to champion data & analytics taking opportunities to elevate data literacy and generate excitement around the business problems we can solve together.

Responsibilities include:

Data Quality Performance monitoring and reporting through enterprise tooling, (i.e. MS Purview) - Business engagement, understanding business data quality standards and developing ways to track and improve performance. Work with the team to champion data quality within projects and initiatives. Develop relationships with key internal stakeholders and external delivery partners to establish consistent data quality standards and establish feedback loops for continuous improvement. Develop the Data Quality Committee to promote and support data quality discussion, improvements and prioritisation. Contribute to data literacy and training across the organisation so that everyone understands what constitutes high-quality data.

Skills & Knowledge required

Understanding and experience planning and executing data quality initiatives. High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data validation and reporting. Understanding of data privacy and security and ability to assess and mitigate data related risks. Ability to interface and align internally with Data Governance, Data Architecture, BI and Analytics within a Data, IT and Digital function – an understanding of the requirements of your role within a wider team. Excellent knowledge of Data Quality – and demonstrable experience applying to solve business problems. Experienced use of data quality tooling and maintaining a Data Dictionary – metadata repository, use of Data Catalogues and Business Glossaries. Organised and disciplined – ability to work across multiple projects and prioritise own time. Good stakeholder engagement with the ability to facilitate and negotiate with key stakeholders at all levels. Strong ability to influence key decisions through effective communication Ability to identify data issues, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions. Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams (IT, Compliance, business). Strong communication skills.

 Technical

Understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management and master data management principles Experience with data quality tooling, data base technologies, ETL and data integration and data profiling and cleansing

Risk & Compliance

Understanding of data security and governance (GDPR etc) Understanding of the impact of poor quality data on business operations Understanding of legal and ethical considerations
