Data Governance Lead (gn) Data & Analytics team: Business IT of SoftwareOne | pensum: full time location: Europe (all SoftwareOne locations) / working model: hybrid The role In a nutshell: The Data Governance Lead is responsible for leading the data governance pillar of SoftwareOne’s data programme, which aims to serve the right data to the right people at the right time. The Data Governance Lead will define and implement the data governance framework, policies, standards, and processes to ensure alignment with the business objectives and strategies. The Data Governance Lead will also oversee the data stewardship activities across the organization, ensuring accountability, transparency, and collaboration for data management. More details: The key relationships Business Functions Data Teams BUSINESS IT-internal teams BUSINESS IT-external partners The key responsibilities Develop and maintain the data governance framework, policies, standards, and processes, in alignment with the data vision, data programme, and business strategy. Establish and chair the Data Council, the decision-making body for data governance, and facilitate the data working groups for specific data domains. Identify, appoint, and train data stewards for each data domain, and provide guidance, support, and oversight for their data governance activities. Define and monitor data governance metrics and KPIs, and report on the progress, issues, and risks of the data governance pillar. Ensure compliance with data regulations, policies, and standards, and manage data incidents, issues, and escalations. Promote data awareness, literacy, and culture across the organization, and communicate the value and benefits of data governance. Collaborate with other data pillars, such as data quality, data architecture, data culture, and master data, to ensure alignment and integration of data governance practices. Engage with key stakeholders, such as business functions, data teams, IT teams, and external partners, to understand their data needs, expectations, and challenges, and ensure their involvement and buyin for data governance. The direct Lead: Erdal is a seasoned Data Management Leader with over a decade of experience in driving data and analytics initiatives at top-tier firms such as PwC, EY, and Hitachi Consulting. Based in London, Erdal specializes in data governance, strategy, and compliance, with a track record of successfully leading GDPR and BCBS 239 projects for financial institutions. Erdal recently joined SoftwareOne to spearhead the creation of a visionary Data Management strategy within the company. He is leading efforts to define a robust data strategy and assemble a high-performing team to execute this vision, driving impactful data-driven transformation at SoftwareOne. Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, principles, methodologies, and best practices. Strong knowledge of data regulations, policies, and standards, such as GDPR, ISO 8000, and DAMA DMBOK. Strong knowledge of data lifecycle, data domains, data models, data elements, data lineage, and data catalogues, demonstrating experience in a specific industry vertical. Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to deliver results in a fast paced and agile environment. Knowledge of data platforms, tools, and technologies, such as Profisee, Collibra, Informatica, and Purview. Bachelor's degree or higher in data management, information systems, business administration, or related field. your communication skill Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with various stakeholders at different levels. Excellent communication skills, especially in English. your personality Passion, curiosity, and enthusiasm for data and its value for the business. Analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle complex data issues and risks. Planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to deliver results in a fast paced and agile environment.
