Role:Data Governance Manager / Senior Data Governance Manager
Salary:£60,000 - £95,000 + Bonus (depending on level)
WFH:2-3 Days/Week Onsite (Hybrid) - Office in Central London

Overview

Our client, a multi-award-winning specialist consultancy in risk, analytics, and data, is hiring for aData Governance Manager or Senior Managerto join their growing Data team. This is a key leadership and delivery role working across multiple credit risk and insurance-related client projects to embed best-in-class data governance and data management practices.

With 250+ consultants across Europe and the Middle East, the business is known for its progressive culture, employee ownership model, and commitment to redefining traditional consulting. Key Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver data governance frameworks across domains including data lineage, quality, metadata, and critical data elements
  • Write and implement data policies and standards for clients in regulated industries
  • Drive embedding of data operating models, including RACI structures, governance committees, and stakeholder engagement
  • Contribute to regulatory change initiatives including IRB and BCBS 239 data requirements
  • Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Maintain high standards for data handling in line with DPA and industry regulation
  • Lead project teams or contribute to larger transformation programmes
  • Support proposition development and continuous improvement across the team

Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience in data governance, including frameworks, policy writing, and operating model design
  • Strong background in credit risk or financial services
  • Experience managing or contributing to regulatory data initiatives (IRB, BCBS 239, etc.)
  • Familiarity with data governance tools like Collibra or IBM IGC preferred
  • Knowledge of data domains, metadata management, and business glossaries
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills
  • Commercial awareness and ability to contribute to solution design and client value

Preferred Qualifications

  • DAMA, CDMP, or similar data governance certifications (desirable, not essential)
  • Prior consulting experience or project-based delivery environments
  • Exposure to insurance and/or banking data environments
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior team members in matrix environments

  1. Initial Chat- Culture, motivations, and mutual fit
  2. Technical / Project Interview(s)- Deep dive into data governance knowledge and delivery approach
  3. Final Interview- Senior stakeholder alignment and offer discussion
