Location: Hybrid - 3 days a week from our London or Amsterdam office and 2 days working from home. Reporting to: Manager, Data Engineering (Customer service & fraud prevention).


About This Role

Customer Service (CS) and Fraud Prevention are innovating how we interact with customers and partners. As part of our 2026 strategy, we aim to deliver personalised support while tackling fraudulent behaviour. We are investing in agentic AI and rethinking our data engineering strategy. Data engineering will drive a transformation of how the CS and Fraud Prevention function operates and contribute to a positive customer and partner experience.

As a Data Engineer at JET, you will drive data-driven initiatives, work hands-on with existing data pipelines, design new pipelines as we onboard new technology, and ensure successful delivery of Data & Analytics solutions. You will advance our data infrastructure, optimise operational efficiency, and support our e-commerce success.


Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver key data pipelines within the customer services organisation with a focus on automation, self-serve, fraud prevention, Agentic AI and data-driven decision making
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
  • Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders; act as a key point of contact for Data Engineering-related matters
  • Design, review, and evolve data ingestion, transformation, and delivery processes with emphasis on automation and efficiency across batch and streaming systems
  • Oversee technical aspects of data projects, ensuring quality, performance, and security
  • Manage project timelines and resources; align with local business needs and priorities for systems
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies; evaluate integration of technologies such as LLMs

What will you bring to the team?
  • Prior experience as a Data Engineer or Software Engineer working with multiple technical work streams
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases; proficiency with data transformation tools like DBT is desirable
  • Experience leading data science projects and using DS techniques to drive business insights
  • Experience designing and scaling data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using tools like Airflow, Databricks, and AWS
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively in a dynamic team
  • Ability to lead complex projects, manage resources, and deliver high-quality results on time in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
