Data & Analytics Governance Manager

At Tarmac, part of CRH, we are on a mission to transform everyday decision-making through data.We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Data & Analytics Governance Manager to spearhead the creation and implementation of enterprise-wide data governance policies, frameworks, and standards.This is a high-impact role at the heart of our Transformation Data & Analytics function – where your work will directly influence operational efficiency and strategic decision-making across the organisation.

About the Role

You will play a pivotal role in establishing trusted data foundations by defining robust policies, championing data quality, and embedding governance practices across our systems and domains.You’ll work with both business and technology stakeholders to bring clarity and consistency to our data standards, taxonomies, and hierarchies.

You’ll also lead regular data governance forums and drive collaboration across the business, ensuring data is treated as a strategic asset.If you’re passionate about enabling better decisions through high-quality, well-governed data – this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities

Design and roll out an enterprise-wide data governance framework, including policies, standards and procedures
Drive alignment and consistency across master data, taxonomies and hierarchies to create “one version of the truth”
Lead initiatives to identify and resolve data quality issues, ensuring accuracy, consistency and completeness
Assess and mitigate data risks, ensuring regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR) and data security
Promote a culture of data literacy and ownership through education, training and advocacy
Engage and manage stakeholders across the organisation to embed governance practices
Develop and track data governance KPIs and maturity models to continuously improve performanceAbout You

You’ll bring a strategic mindset and hands-on expertise in data governance, with a track record of implementing frameworks in complex organisations. You thrive in environments of change and know how to bring people with you on the journey.

What you’ll need to succeed:

Developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-first approach to decision-making
Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and drive cross-functional collaboration
Experience implementing data governance best practices, including data quality, compliance, and stewardship
Familiarity with governance tools such as data catalogues, data dictionaries, lineage mapping, and observability tools
In-depth understanding of data compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR)
Undergraduate degree (BA, BSc); Master’s degree is a plus
