We are seeking a talented and experienced IT Data Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team and lead our data engineering efforts.As Data Engineering Manager you will beresponsible for leading the data engineering team to design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance data infrastructure and pipelines. This role ensures the availability, reliability, and security of data systems to support business intelligence, analytics, and data-driven decision-making. The Data Engineering Manager collaborates closely with data scientists, analysts, and process engineers to drive data strategy and best practices across the organisation.Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Manage and mentor a team of data engineers and analysts, ensuring effective collaboration and knowledge sharing.Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Azure technologies (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data-bricks, etc.).Define and enforce best practices for data architecture, governance, and security across the organization.Develop and optimise ETL/ELT processes to support data analytics and AI-driven initiatives.Collaborate with data scientists and process engineers to integrate machine learning models into production environments.Ensure the performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency of data warehousing and lakehouse solutions.Assess and implement emerging AI/ML technologies to improve data processing capabilities.Engage with business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them in-to technical solutions.Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal data governance policies.Work closely with third-party suppliers and vendors who support data architecture initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical standards.Attributes &ExperienceBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.Proven experience in data engineering and team management, preferably in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.Strong understanding of data architecture, data modelling, ETL/ELT processesand data pipeline development.Competency with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka etc).Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.Insightful problem-solving skills and strategic thinking abilities.Ability to drive innovative solutions to complex data challenges.A passion for staying updated with industry trends and emerging technologies.Why Work With Us?We offer a competitive starting salary ranging from £50,500 to £72,000 per annum, based on experience.
