Supporting our client on their high profile project, The Construction Manager is responsible for the Planning and Execution of Civil Engineering and Cable Installation works part of the overall execution Project.
The role has been assessed as outside IR35 so can allow Ltd Company working (pending a personal assessment). For the correct, competent and suitable candidate, the role will be based on a 12-month renewable contract with a 4 week notice period
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
The Construction Manager is responsible for the Planning and Execution of Civil Engineering and Cable Installation works part of the overall execution Project.
Related work: route planning, linear duct installation, reinstatement, HDD trenchless crossings, HV cable Joint Bay construction.
Management of involved subcontractors as well as the internal resources assigned to the relevant scope, monitoring against Quality inspection and test plan.
Ensure status reporting to the wider project team
Ensure good communications and coordination with the relevant internal and external parties.
Ensure progress as per project programme, suggest and implement mitigations in case of schedule slippage.
Identify risks (including QHSE) and opportunities and conduct proactive work and decide on actions to mitigate identified risks or realise opportunities.
Ensure that the work is performed according to Health & Safety and Environmental plans and regulations.
Responsible for installation/service, both qualitatively and quantitatively performed in the best possible way, taking into account the required time, resource and cost framesCompetencies and Qualifications require for the position
Education: Preferably Degree or formal qualification in civil engineering/Construction Management or equivalent alternatively relevant practical experience obtained from a similar role
Experience: Previous proven experience from turn-key land cable installation projects including civils and cable installation scope. Preferably having outlined understanding of marine cable installations at the landfalls, as marine interconnectors may be part of project interface
Qualification: UK NVQ/SMSTS, CSCS card to suit role, Black or Gold. Temporary works Experience/ awareness.
