Job title: Commercial Director

Core Purpose: As part of the leadership team this role will be accountable for leading and driving the agency business plan, for 2025 and beyond, ensuring profitable and sustainable growth. This exceptional leader will drive the company mission in the market, lead the agency culture, our product proposition, cultivate team growth and enhance client performance to achieve demonstrable outcomes.
The role:
– Lead the implementation of the business plan for 2025 and beyond.
– Drive profitable and sustainable growth while ensuring alignment with agency valuation goals.
– Cultivate a positive agency culture that reflects the product values and mission.
– Inspire and mentor team members to foster professional development and engagement.
– Enhance client performance through tailored strategies (based on the agency’s three Unique’s of data, people and conversations) and meaningful partnerships.
– Act as a key advocate for the product’s compelling story in the marketplace while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to support growth objectives.
– Monitor market trends to adapt strategies for competitive advantage.
– Ensure operational excellence and accountability across all agency functions.
– Minimum 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within the marketing services industry; demonstrating a track record of driving business growth and client success.
– Proven experience in strategic planning and execution, with at least 3 years in developing and implementing successful business plans.
– Demonstrated ability to lead diverse and cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
– Strong background in client relationship management, with experience in enhancing client performance and satisfaction; along with proven financial management and contract negotiation.
– Familiarity with P+L management enabling data-driven decision-making for business revenue and cost management.

Identifies and mitigates risks, including budgeting and financial forecasting, operational efficiencies, KPI and performance management to protect the agency and interests of all employees.
– Goal setting & creative problem solving: Sets clear, compelling, achievable company goals and objectives, and employs innovative problem-solving approaches to overcome complex challenges, foster creativity and drive organisational success. Shows resilience while leading by example and guiding employees in times of transition. Handles crises and emergencies calmly and with confidence and competence.
Execution
– Customer-centric approach: Prioritises the needs and expectations of customers, whether internal or external, and ensures leadership decisions and strategies align with delivering exceptional value and satisfaction. Ability to identify and close growth opportunities through strategic sales skills, relationship building, pitching and negotiation skills.
– Doing the right thing: They own their decisions (learning from good and bad) and make informed choices, analysing information available and checking facts, to balance our need for action at pace with our ambition to always do the right thing for the business, our people and our clients.
