Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm

We are currently supporting them in the recruitment of a driven and experienced Commercial Accountant to join their dynamic finance team based at their Sheffield site.

About the role
This is a key finance role focused on commercial decision-making, financial controls, and optimising the commercial result of the business. You will support cross-functional teams and ensure strong governance across customer debtor accounts, costing models, and cash flow management.

Key Responsibilities
Trade Debtors Management: Monitor and reconcile trade debtor accounts, resolve discrepancies, and manage provisions for doubtful debts.
Cash Flow Forecasting: Lead weekly cash receipts forecasting and present insights to Finance leadership.
Surcharge Process Ownership: Manage monthly energy and raw material surcharge calculations with variance analysis.
Product Costing Analysis: Conduct accurate costings and ROI assessments for single and multi-year opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with commercial, technical, and operations teams to maintain costing data integrity.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and post turnover-related entries and reconcile commercial balance sheet accounts.
Tolling & Intercompany Transfers: Manage tolling fees and intra-company transactions to ensure timely financial processing.
Statutory Accounting Adjustments: Handle year-end accounting adjustments for audit and compliance.
Business Improvements: Participate in improvement initiatives to align finance with broader strategic goals.
Controls & Compliance: Ensure adherence to robust financial controls and contribute to continuous improvement.
Support Leadership: Support the Commercial Finance Manager and deputise as needed. About You

We’re looking for a commercially minded and detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Criteria:

Qualified (ACCA / CIMA) or Finalist nearing completion
Strong commercial acumen with experience in manufacturing or engineering industries
Advanced Excel skills and confident working with ERP systems
Proactive approach with the ability to challenge and improve existing processes
Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships across teams
Strong time management and prioritisation skills What’s in It for You?
