What you could be involved with or responsible for:

Leading, coaching and developing a team of Physics Business Operations Analysts within the Physics sub-functions to deliver against the strategic and tactical requirements defined by the Head of Physics.

Providing pastoral care and support to team members as required, signposting if necessary to support available resources.

Assessing staff performance, measured against agreed personal objectives and accountabilities, and taking corrective action to improve performance where necessary via application of the appropriate management interventions and policies.

Managing the Physics functional finance budget which supports both direct expenditure and pay bill in a resource managers capacity.

Supporting recruitment newsletters, developing recruitment boards for careers fairs and conferences, attending recruitment fairs and engaging with corporate comms and external professional bodies (Physics World, New Scientist) to promote career paths across Physics.

Developing a resource dashboard to provide metrics that feed into the subfunctions Visual Management Board (VMB) to track finance (pay bill and DE) and recruitment.

Supporting the Head of Physics and Physics Business Operations team with finance and resource related transformation activities, company initiatives and any other reasonable duties that align to this position.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with the ability to forge positive relationships in a fast paced and service-oriented environment. As well as excellent verbal and written skills, you will need to have an eye for detail, the ability to analyse data and be able to challenge and problem solve.

If you would like to be part of a dynamic team where you will be encouraged to develop and grow, we welcome your application.

Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we'd like you to have experience in some of the following:

A good people person, with a strong lead within the team but also with the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders across all levels of a business

A high level of organisation with experience of setting up large meetings, ensuring all relevant documentation required, including proposals, escalations and performance reporting are delivered to the required quality
