Business Intelligence Manager, Supply Chain Optimization

We are looking to hire an experienced, highly-analytical and hands-on candidate to develop business intelligence solutions that drive key business decisions to reduce delivery cost. This person should be skilled at analyzing complex data and metrics and turning analysis into action. The person does not hesitate to initiate and drive a project and involve stakeholders to improve the customer experience with data insights. The ability to promptly take action, prioritize tasks properly, and manage the multiple due dates are essential to success in this role. Writing and verbal communication in both Japanese and English will also be required.

Key job responsibilities
Data-driven: Own end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-functional analytics projects. Drive the development of scalable data models, maintain data governance standards and best practice. Drive continuous improvement in data quality, accessibility, and analytical capabilities.
English-Japanese Communication Skills: Deeply understand supply chain operations and systems, and their interactions, communicate with domestic and international stakeholders in both Japanese and English, and use this to help reduce delivery costs.
Project Management: Manage medium-scale cross-departmental projects. This includes facilitating meetings, tracking tasks and status, and requesting support from leaders.
Reporting to Executives: You will regularly prepare reports with cost reduction-related metrics, share them with key stakeholders including executives, and help them understand the situation.
Proposing Long-term Strategies: From a high-level perspective, make proposals that can reduce costs without compromising customer experience. Also, actively analyze initiatives being implemented in other countries (mainly the US and EU), and take charge of introducing them to Japan.

About the team
JP Supply Chain Management (SCM) aims to provide all customers with the fastest and most convenient local delivery experience through optimizing our supply chain. Our goal is to serve customers in their online shopping journey, deliver their purchase as quickly, accurately, and cost effectively as possible. We work closely with Fulfilment Center (FC), Amazon Logistics (AMZL), Transportation, DEX, and Worldwide tech teams.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
- 5+ years in business intelligence, data engineering, or related technical field
- Expert-level SQL skills and experience with big data technologies (e.g., Redshift, Hadoop, Spark)
- Strong experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, QuickSight, Power BI)
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)
- Business-level English proficiency (able to lead meetings)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations or related field
- Business-level Japanese proficiency(able to lead meetings)
- Experience managing teams in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
- Track record of delivering large-scale data projects
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
- Programming experience in Python, R, or similar languages
- Previous experience at Amazon or other tech companies at scale
