Job Summary & Responsibilities
The Goldman Sachs Asset Management UK and Ireland Institutional Team is responsible for new business development and management of our existing relationships with institutional clients. Clients include corporations, governments, pension plans, financial institutions, foundations and endowments.
We are looking for a highly competent individual to work in the team covering the UK Institutional clients, based in London.
Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with senior members of the team to develop and maintain relationships with existing clients
  • Develop an understanding of clients' objectives, structure, portfolios and information needs
  • Act as the clients' point of access into GS Asset Management and the wider organisation
  • Proactively service clients to provide resolution to their various enquiries
  • Develop relationships internally across various GS Asset Management product teams, including Fixed Income & Currency, Equity, Quantitative Strategies, Alternative Investments, Multi-Asset Solutions, as well as other functions such as risk & performance, legal, compliance and operations
  • Coordinate and prepare marketing materials, including presentations, client reports, request for proposals
  • Attend client and/or prospect meetings, as required
  • Organise client events and conferences, including contributing to setting the agenda of topics
  • Conduct competitor/market research and analyses
  • Co-ordinate responses to internal requests for information, e.g. requests from COO team/ senior management
  • Support the team in the maintenance of 'clean' client data and coverage in CRM systems
  • Develop & maintain target client lists
  • Support senior members of the team in developing sales strategy for target clients and strategic planning of sales and relationship management business
  • Keep current on GS Asset Management's investment products

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • University graduate or equivalent with a minimum of 1+ years of relevant experience
  • General knowledge of financial markets and asset management preferred
  • Fluency (written and oral proficiency) in English required
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with both clients and internal contacts
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong client and sales orientation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team player
  • Good commercial instincts
  • Self-starter
  • Computer software abilities including spreadsheets, graphics and word processing
