About the Team

Our Ecology and Environment teams are increasingly embracing data-driven approaches to enhance project delivery and environmental outcomes. While we are at an early stage of expanding data science and advanced analytics capabilities, this role offers a unique opportunity to grow these skills within our geospatial and environmental consultancy sectors. You will be part of a forward-looking team committed to integrating data engineering, spatial analysis, and environmental expertise to support sustainable development and innovative solutions.

What you will be doing:

  • Assist with data collection, cleaning, and exploratory analysis using statistical software and programming languages.
  • Support development of models, visualisations, and reports to communicate insights effectively.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate data science outputs into projects.
  • Follow data governance and quality assurance protocols.
  • Engage in continuous learning through your apprenticeship course to build your skills towards a BSc degree or equivalent qualification.

  • Strong interest in data, mathematics, and technology.
  • Basic programming or statistical knowledge is beneficial but not essential.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and approaches in practical settings.
  • Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and reliability.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to building a career in data science.

Qualifications:

  • Recent college leaver with Level 2 or Level 3 qualifications in relevant subjects such as Mathematics, Computing, Statistics, or related fields.
  • A-level in both English and Maths.
  • Willingness to undertake further training and qualifications as part of the apprenticeship programme.
