Prime Video is seeking a Principal Quantitative Researcher to help us deliver impactful, end-to-end research that illuminates new insights and opportunities to delight our customers. We’re looking for a highly motivated, creative and detail-oriented researcher to join our team as we build the next generation of entertainment experiences on all devices and platforms – for millions of people around the world. You should be comfortable with ambiguity, enjoy building from scratch, and be able to tackle challenging issues efficiently. You thrive in triangulating insights with other quantitative data sources, such as experiment metrics, user logs, etc. and qualitative data inputs to tell compelling stories. As a part of the UX Researcher Team, you will be a key strategic partner to product and design teams, driving user-centered design and decision-making across the organization. You will deliver impactful research for major products or services, shaping our product strategy through data-driven insights.

Key job responsibilities

For this role we are looking for someone who can:

  • Independently design and lead quant-focused UX research projects (survey design, implementation, statistical analysis, quant usability, etc.)
  • Triangulate and synthesize survey insights with engagement metrics, live experiment metrics, user logs, and qualitative insights and turn them into compelling narratives and actionable recommendations that drive product improvements and business strategy
  • Build mechanisms for regularly communicating insights leveraging strong writing and data visualization skills
  • Influence decision-makers at all levels to act on insights, driving customer delight and business objectives and deliver well-structured and insightful written reports
  • Drive research goals and research programs across multiple stakeholders and teams, managing complex relationships and building consensus when faced with discordant views
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of the study design, including survey design, survey programming, fielding, analysis, reporting, and communicating research initiatives, etc.
  • Demonstrable experience in any of the following areas (multiple areas preferred): sample design, conjoint surveys, data wrangling, nonresponse adjustment, survey weighting, causal analysis, experimental design, multiple imputation
  • Contribute to the strategic planning of the UX research roadmap and help evolve research practices to meet changing business and user needs

Basic Qualifications

  • PhD or MS in statistics, quantitative field, experimental psychology or a related discipline
  • 10+ yrs industry experience leading quantitative research, including developing and validating survey measures and/or assessments and applying quantitative methods to business and industry settings
  • Proficiency in experimental and quasi-experimental methods
  • Experience with data analysis package (R, SAS, Matlab, SPSS, etc.)
  • Demonstrated mastery of statistical modeling and hypothesis testing
  • Strong skill with R, Python, or similar languages
  • Proficiency with SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
  • Experience with survey sampling strategies and weighting techniques to ensure representative results
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Track record of successful collaboration with qualitative researchers (e.g., ethnographers, human factors specialists) and research scientists and/or data scientists
  • Experience mentoring other researchers and driving team excellence
  • Experience with generative AI, NLP, and its applications in research
  • Domain expertise in streaming/entertainment and/or commerce
