We're looking for an experienced and motivated Analytics manager to come join our growing team here within our Distribution and Fulfilment function!
As a member of the distribution transformation team, you will work with a small team project managers to deliver actionable data modelling, analytics and reporting to help drive our distribution transformation initiatives improving profitability and long-term growth ambitions.
Location:Please be aware this is a Head Office based role (Welwyn Garden City, AL7 1TW) however time will be spent at our Tesco Distribution Centres as required each week dependent on the project's needs, 3+ days per week minimum, sometimes more.
You will be responsible for
Partnering with our distribution projects and operational teams to understand problem statements, activities and analytical needs and translate this into clearly defined analytical and modelling requirements. Providing insight from data and reporting to support decision making on a variety of distribution transformation initiatives, including our Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR) initiatives. Collaborating with stakeholders at all levels working on projects covering Distribution to End to End savings. Building self-analytics capability on top of big data architectures using tools like Tableau to eliminate the need for manual data retrieval and manipulation. Use of Excel, PowerPoint, and a BI software (preferably Tableau) to support stakeholders to make business decisions Building mathematical models to help optimise current distribution operational cost and to increase capacity and capability of existing assets.
You will need
Ability to simplify sophisticated problems and manipulate data accurately. Effective stakeholder management. Ability to identify the most important limiting factor in the operational process. Understanding of logistics, material handling technologies and labour standards (preferred but not mandatory). Willingness to learn Tesco fresh and packaged distribution centre operational processes. Experience using a query language (preferably SQL) to access and manipulate data from a data base, Experience using Alation preferred. Experience using Excel, PowerPoint, and a BI software (preferably Tableau) to manipulate and share data in a clear and visually appealing way to support partners to make business decisions. A degree or equivalent experiencewith numerate subjects preferred e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Economics (desirable).
